Unable to open Tal Shiar Lock Boxes

I bought myself some master keys and mailed across some Tal Shiar lock boxes to my Lt 6 Romulan only for the system to inform me that I "Do not meet the requirements"

Has anyone else come across this issue or is this a bug? I also tried using the support function on Perfect World, but the website wont let me use the drop down menus???

This has already been stated by Cryptic. You have to have chosen to ally with the Federation or KDF before you can open any lockboxes at all. I forgot what the episode is called but you get it at around level 9 or 10. After completing that episode you have a choice of which side to ally yourself with.

Edit: The same goes for using the exchange. You have to be allied with either Fed or KDF before you can use it.

The reason being is because there are faction specific items in lockboxes (ships, duty officers, etc.) and the exchange (bridge officers, duty officers, ships from lockboxes, etc.) and you can't use anything non-Romulan until you choose a side.

Ahh thank you, that makes sense I didnt use any lock boxes in the beta or the test weekend so...

Righty, back to burning the galaxy I go ^_^
