I'm sure this has come up before, but search doesn't seem to want to work for me. My question is, since the Aquarius pet exists for the Odessey, is there any reason why something similar to the Bird of Prey for the KDF carrier doesn't exist Fed side?
As much as I loath its looks the Aquarius would work for a Fed Frigate if it comes down to it.
Personally I'd rather see an even beefier, larger runabout be made to be a Fed Frigate. It could keep the tractor beam (but not the warp plama, that stuff just strains video cards too much and doesn't even show up half the time) but add a bunch of weapons to make it more of a gunship.
I realize Cryptic is probably saving up on the Aquarius frigate hangar pet until they release a full fed carrier, but come on, just release it for the HEC and be done with it!
My Atrox can fit my friends Defiant and we joke that I should be able to launch a total of 4 of them. I do think that the Feds need a frigate to launch.
I would like to see my Atrox launching Defiant class escorts (much like the KDF B'Rolths). Talking about sizes I believe that the Atrox could support 4 defiant class escorts with ease. And he Atrox is designed to be the Fed equivalent to the Vo'Quv so it should be a le to launch frigates or other small escorts like the Saber or the Defiant classss

If you are referring to the Maquis raiders, I agree. As to the Defiant, according to Memory Beta, these would fit the bill nicely as a Fed frigate pet:
The Scarab-class was a slower fighter with moderate shield and a stronger hull. It bears a strong resemblance to the Defiant-class escort.

The difference being the Defiant and Aquarius classes are already utilized as playable ships with capabilities far in excess of what even a Frigate-Weight hangar pet is capable of.

True, which is why I mentioned the Scarab class. And just for counterpoint, the B'rel is also a playable ship and the B'rolth will soon be a playable ship, both are far in excess of what the KDF pets are. The Scarab would be a scaled down Defiant that would be a fed equivalent of the B'rel for rare and B'rolth for very rare.

If the carrier is big enough (Like the Jupiter), they could launch defiants.
or as you said the Saber.
Not the Aquarius, it is already launcher by the Odyssey.
Get the epidural injection ready we are going to launch a frigate from the shuttle bay

Problem solved.

Heck, wouldn't mind seeing Valkyrie fighters too, twin pulse phasers, quantum torps, forward beam array and a repulsor beam...nice.
Which leads to another point, the fed advanced pets need boff skills like CRF, CSV, TS and/or THY like the KDF counterparts, IMHO.
