Don't fence me in...

so here's my feedback about LOR so far...

I like a lot about it. The village is nice, the story seems relatively interesting, the new UI is much better, but... Way, way, way too many invisible walls...

Invisible walls over fences...
Invisible walls around buildings...
Invisible walls around trees...
Invisible walls around freakin invisible walls...

At first i felt free, like a modern romulan hippie should. But then the walls started to close in and i realized that freedom is just an illusion confined within hundreds of invisible walls.

Was i actually in a holosuite? Or perhaps it was just a dream...

While the story may be interesting, and the gameplay fun, it's not all business all the time. Sometimes i just want to climb a tree and whistle a ridiculous song while staring off into the distance.

Maybe all these walls are just there to prevent crashes until the bugs are worked out... If thats the case, then i'll be a happy camper. But this could also be the start of a very disturbing trend to restrict the population, and control our behavior, and i just can't get behind that.

Some maps are the equvalant to instances shared but instances none the less they will have limitations.

I for one do not want them spending all their dev time making huge planet maps that in reality only 1 in a 100 players explore.

Their time can be spent better elsewhere.

oh i'm not talking about making the map huge so we can run off into the distance or anything...
i mean, there's walls everywhere. i'm not sure if it's my gfx card, or it's just unfinished, but i can see the invisible walls on virnat, they get a dark tint when i run into them.
there's a tree, near the middle of the map i think, and it's got a circular invisible wall around it, like a force field. it's weird, and there's many other things like that. there's a fence that you can walk on both sides of, it's about waist high, but you can't jump over it because an invisible wall extends up from it.
it seems like the fence, the tree, and other things, are just placeholder objects or something, but with the real texture on it. they just dont take up the right amount of space for what they look like.
i'm sure it's just unfinished, but with the added incentive to test over the weekend, i decided to go in and do some actual testing... so this is just me doing my part and reporting something weird, not asking for anything to be made different/bigger/better...
