What do most people expect from a Vorcha or a TorKaht when they play next to one? The Torkaht has my eye and I am thinking about picking it up as soon as I raise the cash to get the FSMs off of the exchange. I am thinking of putting DHCs on it to make use of the tac BOFF skills. Should I try a balance between damage and healing, or is going only for damage and my survivability good enough?
I have been goofing around with my Eng for a while and decided to get serious. I had the BGen Neghvar as my main ship and I was doing pretty good in the STFs as a tank/healer but I got really bored with that as the lack of team work in PUGs just made the whole match a yawn that usually ended in failure.
Since my DPS was too low to take matters into my own hands I picked up a mirror Qin and have been having fun in that, but since I lack the inherent traits of a tactician I cannot reach its potential.
I adore my Tor'kaht, since it hits like an escort but tanks just shy of a full cruiser. However, using it in that manner is really best exploited by a tactical captain with all the damage buffs available. An eng captain could certainly rock it, but wouldn't get the most out of it, and for that price its kind of a shame to not use it to its full ability.
On the other hand when I dropped my eng captain into a Mirror Vo'quv, good times. The extra eng stations let me run it like a cruiser, but a cruiser with commander-level science surprises an a squadron of BoP fire support.
I see what you mean, I don't like the sound the Voquv, a turn rate of 5 just doesn't sound appealing at all. I might try out the Kamarag or maybe even the KTinga.
