Chel Grett or Krenn (Temporal Destroyer)?

Hi @ll

For my Klingon Tactician, I wanted to put his Chel Grett into the dry-dock and give him a bit more "escort-style" ship. Because I like "special" ships, I thought about the Krenn Temporal Destroyer.

But when I looked up the stats, I was quite disappointed. Can it be possible that it is weaker than the Chel Grett, even if it's not for free? Should I change or stay?

Here a few things which caught my attention (especially because the Krenn seems weaker):

Hull
Chel Grett: 36'000
Krenn: 33'000

Shield-Modifier
Chel Grett: 1.00
Krenn: 1.05 (ok, slightly higher....maybe only advantage of the Krenn)

Weapon-Slots
Chel Grett: 8
Krenn: 7

Device-Slots
Chel Grett: 3
Krenn: 2

Turn-Rate
Chel Grett: 13
Krenn: 15 (but 13 is enough for me - not important)

Bonus weapon power
Chel Grett: 10
Krenn: 10

I don't know what "Inertia-Rating" means.

Is there something I've overseen? Something which is a plus for the Krenn?

Thank you for your opinions in advance. I would love the Krenn...but I don't invest in it if it is weaker than my free ship. It would be....illogical. ;)

Temporal ship has some potent universal bridge stations.
This program, though reasonably normal at times, seems to have a strong affinity to classes belonging to the Cat 2.0 program. Questerius 2.7 will break down on occasion, resulting in garbage and nonsense messages whenever it occurs. Usually a hard reboot or pulling the plug solves the problem when that happens.

I would keep the Chel Grett, if it could cloak I would never even consider leaving the old ugly girl in the hanger.

I was looking at the Krenn sometime back and decided that the Veteran destroyer was a far better option for me. Have you thought of using that ship at all?

So you're still happy with it? I tried it months ago and thought it was pretty weak, but I have to admit, I didn't have the best weapon configuration.

So the Krenn doesn't seem worth the investment...? That explains why I barely see this ship in sector space....

Well for PvP the Krenn is super nice, it has a lt. com and a lt uni boff stations. That makes it very flexible for solo and team play. It can be super tanky and give a good burst alpha, I would highly recommend it.

I'm the first to admit it isn't the best ship around, but it does allow for flexibility in it's play plus the added bonus is it doesn't cost you anything (ignoring the subscription/LTS cost). It's a solid PvE ship and does well in the Romulan patrol. My wife used it in the Crystal Event that finished up about a week ago and she got 3rd place with it.

Using it's abilities can work out well for you. I use it and the Gurambla as my STF ships for my KDF Tactical. As they have a bit more punch than his Galor.

You really need to assign the lt commander universal station to a tactical to get the added punch needed. Try it with some decent gear and see how it goes before you decided to fork out anything for alternatives. At worse you can always go back to your Breen ship.

If you know someone with an unpacked one (Krenn), and when Tribble character copy is back up you could always ask them to copy their character over and give you the ship and you can test it without paying a single lobi or EC.

Alternatively if you haven't used your 600 day token, try out the Guramba it's a good ship I use it a lot myself.
