there is one its the nebula pos ship and it has a cooldown of worthless because they will just wait 30 sec tell it wears off... and o yea guess what when the snooper goes to detect the cloaked ships it uncloaks their own so it is better not to have one on your team lol

Has nothing to do with the Nebula.

It involves taking 9 in Sensors, taking a +Sensors deflector, running +Sensors consoles, having EPtA, using Sensor Scan, etc, etc, etc, etc...

...people are unwilling to make the investment.

Generally speaking, there's little reason to make the investment outside of boredom and just wanting to try it.

KvK works fine... F/FRvF/FR, F/FR/vK/KR, K/KRvK/KR will work fine as well.

tested it all you need is the romulan boff and you can have all the detection TRIBBLE you want and you will never see them tell they want you to. unless they get real close to you and these maps are big!

The Rom I'm on right now has 5214 Stealth (only at 84 Aux). My Snooper could see him at 11-12km. He can see the 4975 (no skill, no gear, 50 Aux) guy at over 16km. My Snooper tends to get primaried in FvK matches.

It would be Evil, but funny - imho, were they allow cloaked ships to use Sensor Scan while cloaked. Because I could build a Rom Snooper-Hunter then. :)

A nice thing would be mounting the T'Varo with snooper setup, with quantum torps and THY3, and smackdown enemies in cloak. Or just smack a Grav Well in their path and let others whale on them, or even fire off that Mother of All Plasma Torps console at them.

Plus you can get the aux-booster doff while under cloak....

Thing is...Science Vessels actually get a better boost to their Stealth Detection Rating from Aux than non-Science Vessels. I don't know if I have it in me to do another reroll to see what's possible over here. I think this is at least my 8th toon...lost track of doing the rerolls and then with the wipe.

Ah, pity about that then. I'll just try jiggering things around to see if I can get decent snoop range while under cloak myself. I love the idea of being able to smack cloaked stuff aound while being able to stay cloaked (mostly) myself.

    Oh, and

    is a cheaper option.

    Yeah, right now.

1 Defiant (or other cloak ship), 4 support ships is hax. It's super lazy mode.

    Cloak detection needs a boost.

I hate to think of how stupidly cluttered **** is going to get when people start minelaying and pet spamming. It's like we're going back to the way things were.

this might be the one thing to bring me back.

sadly my snooper nebula (balanced for team heals/cloak spotting) sucks. not due to lack of player skills/etc but because the nebula is a bad platform for this to be from.

best i could manage for spotting after i popped all my buffs was only 15km against a 5000 pt stealth target.

thats- 169 points in sensors, tachyon field, tachyon detection grid, sensor scan, and epta 1 (holodeck) so for 5 seconds i managed to get just a hair over 1k in stealth detection.

like i said, this was a realistic setup for pvp, so basically everything was healing with only 1-2 control powers.
i heard others got over 1.5k in detection but the sacrafices they made to get that i feel were too much.

the nebby needs a boost if this is to be its role.

It's that investment in both skill points and gear that kind of leaves the Snooper not good for much other than snooping. With the Sensor Probes there, well - there's no Emitters. There's nothing boosting Grav or Part, etc, etc, etc. The +Sensor deflectors are squishy deflectors. The Snooper tends to be fragile...and quickly goes from being the hero for spotting those pesky Stealthers to a liability that can easily cost the match.

I avoided Arenas with him like the plauge...but CnH - well, different story.

That being said though, LoR's bringing the Ha'nom. Hate that the Fleet version is a T5 shipyard boat, but the SA version's just missing a Sci console and the usual 10%. Still though...

...I could definitely see building the Sneaky Snooper with it. Basically what I was looking at doing with a Fleet Deep...with the Fleet Ha'nom instead.

But it's such a specialized build...meh. I could see one or two of them if there were ten man teams, but with five man teams - it is just a waste of a spot.

hence why ill be flyin mah nebby. more healer then spotter, but better then no spotter at all.

also, nothing like laggin mah own team with the tachyon detection grid :P

love firing that up in sol system too. so much fun in there.

Why not use the Ta'varo with it's Enhanced Battle Cloak?

I think you can Sensor Scan while in Enhanced Battle Cloak, can't you?

Just wait for the Fed farmer Jacks to go to Kerrat and to get their loot. Pounce as they de-cloak for the free kills. Repeat until the cries drown the forums and Cryptic nerfs all BC to hell.

Enjoy the end of PvP variety ... all because Feds had to have cloaks ... excuse me Romulans aligned with Feds.

i wonder if all 3 of these + to aux guys can be stacked...

thatd be +65 power to aux in total (2 x +25, +15) just... wow...

    imagine...

It's one of those things - where Tribble's just not cutting it for a testing environment. There are too many things being excluded from testing...to focus on certain new things - in isolation. That isolation thing's always been a problem...never taking into consideration how the parts can end up working together.

yea i don't think they ever allow good testing in this game. Also everything they make is pve based then they try to adjust for pvp because they don't care to have pvp in this game it seams no updates to pvp sense the game was released...

this new patch is cool and all but it is pve based again they should test all new abilities pvp then adjust the resistance to the new stuff in the pve ai

I was thinking in reworking my klink sci in his B'rel... Klingon faction could also use snoopers to hunt for the rommies and fed defiants. More flexible than T'varo, think about a TT2 and Omega 3 buffed HY3 torpedo, while the opponent is held by my full aux powered tractor beam 3.

There's this to consider in regard to the boost you get to SDR from Aux:
Right, sorry. I meant to include that.

Aux Power improves your SDR by a numeric amount. It is linear.

For Non-Science Ships, it scales as follows:

    25 Aux = 10
    50 Aux = 20
    75 Aux = 30
    100 Aux = 40

    For Science Ships, it is:

    25 Aux = 30
    50 Aux = 60
    75 Aux = 90
    100 Aux = 120

Not a huge bonus. It may need to be improved. We'll see.

So yeah, it's 50/150 at 125 Aux as well.

So with no skill/gear and just the difference in Aux between the Sci and non-Sci...

    @125 Aux
    non-Sci: 5025 Perception
    Sci: 5075 Perception

It's just +1 km that they can see...

...works out like the following vs. standard 50 aux no skill points/gear Stealther w/ 4975 Stealth:

    non-Sci can see at 1km.
    Sci can see at 2km.

So like Bort said, not a huge bonus...but when you can see them at 11km vs. 10km - you've seen them before they're in firing range. :)

Speaking of Stealth...and Stealth things, I still think they need to change Warp Shadows.

Warp Shadow V...creates 5x "useless" shadows that last 15s. 4.5s later, you get +6k Stealth for 5s.

That +6k Stealth for 5s, imho, should come when you drop the shadows - not 4.5s after they're gone.

I find this power just about right. It provides so much confusion and survivialbility that in a pvp enviroment, it can be a lifesaver.
