Tribble Rewards? - Not another tribble

ask4spock1ask4spock1 Member Posts: 135 Arc User
As I go through the testing of LOR I reminded myself of the past rewards to testing on Tribble.

Since the testing the revamp skill tree, testers have only gotten a rare tribble. These poor creatures... torn from their homes to become someone's pet or worse... tribble carcass on the Klingon side.

I hope we as testers will receive something better than "Just Another Tribble".

STO needs to be considerate of these creatures. One can only hope PETA gets involved to save these creatures.

These poor defenseless creatures are now being made into slippers.

Part of me agrees, I've gotten so many tester tribbles I'm not even sure what to do with them all.

Part of me just thinks they should trash Tribble Playtest rewards all together. I mean really we need a reward to preview really cool stuff, and make it better before launch?

Then part of me likes the darn tribbles.

normally when there is a reward for testing, its explicitly stated there will be 'a reward' i dont remeber reading anywhere about being rewarded for testing beyond playing new stuff early.

But that might just be me being silly :p

They offer the "reward" as an enticement to get people over onto the test server for the stress test. This means open beta.

You all are still in the closed beta. So no stress test is taking place yet.

Wait for the "weekend" event that is most likely coming soon. That'll be the open beta, stress test, with the tribble dangling from the stick in front of you.

Between the Holodeck, Tribble, Redshirt, CO, and NWN Open Beta the Server system is already as stressed as it needs to be. :)
STO is about my Liberated Borg Federation Captain with his Breen 1st Officer, Jem'Hadar Tactical Officer, Liberated Borg Engineering Officer, Android Ops Officer, Photonic Science Officer, Gorn Science Officer, and Reman Medical Officer jumping into their Jem'Hadar Carrier and flying off to do missions for the new Romulan Empire. But for some players allowing a T5 Connie to be used breaks the canon in the game.

    WIN!!!!

Seriously.... Tribbles are pretty much vermin, kind of like mice and rats. Sure you can keep them as pets, but..... you don't want them running wild in your house.

    Expect...

The Nukara Tribble! Whith a nice shiny armor.

But I'd take a Tribble gun launcher as the testing reward any day. Something social and harmless. :D

    Miniature Tovan.

Although I confess I wouldn't mind a Nukara tribble.. I suspect I am going to quite dislike grinding the rep unless they add space patrols. (Which is a shame because Tetryon weapons are quite a guilty pleasure of mine.)

Only half on point, but I think they should think about adding a tab just for non combat pets and tribbles at some point. It doesn't have to be a big one. A five slot pet tab would go a long way to reducing clutter and no doubt would be well received.

Is it so much to ask for space bunnies with freakin laser beams attached to their foreheads?

I knew a lady once predicted my future, she said I would walk through a door and dam it, she was right. I asked her to look into the future and she predicted we get Nukara Tribbles that grant 1 Nukara Mark hourly. This lady is incredible.
But I'd take a Tribble gun launcher as the testing reward any day. Something social and harmless. :D

A Tribble that uses a gun to launch more guns? Sounds awesome to me.:D

On a serious note, any weapon that uses tribbles as ammunition is deemed by the Klingon High Council to be a biological warfare weapon of terrible and catastrophic proportions, you will be hunted down if you were ever to wield such a weapon. Mark my words.

I'm gonna go with Liberated Borg ROMULAN Bridge Officer.

It's curious that they chose Reman for the bundles.

This is bigger than a patch. I'd expect more testing promotion (ie. longer/more testing required for the reward) and a bigger reward than usual if it's something the team has time for.

Remember how the F2P transition had rewards for complete leveling as well as time.

I'd almost expect the rewards to come in three varieties once everything is on Tribble:

Small Reward (Tribble?) for spending two hours testing.

Big reward for leveling a Romulan 1-50.

Maybe another big reward for leveling a Klingon 1-50.

And if I were them, I'd hold off on any announcements and require it to be a new Romulan or Klingon created after all the content is live.

I think its about time to consider free pet storage, especially since some of the Tribbles can't be reclaimed if discarded. I use to store my Tribbles on my BOFFs, but then someone at Cryptic had the genius idea to make Tribbles that can't be held by BOFFs.

The Fleet and Romulan tribbles, as well as the rest of the test rewards, are nifty little things to have. That being said, expecting, or in some of these cases, demanding a 'better' reward is counter-intuitive. A Tholian tribble would be interesting.. but in that case, let's have another Inventory tab, one just for pets and food.

I'm expecting a Nukara Tribble, to go with the Mol'Rihan and Fleet Tribbles.

But hoping its something more, like one of those giant tribbles from TAS, which we could store all of our Tribbles inside it. (I.E. much needed Tribble storage, because there is too many tribbles).
