Based on the tooltip, the difference in terms of DPS is only 100 when comparing BFaW I and III. Is this number significant? Would it be better to run omega I and bfaw I or bfaw III and beta I?

The DPS per hit is not much greater, but if I'm not mistaken FAW shoots 5 hits instead 4 per volley.

AFAIK the main difference between BFAW1-3 is the number of targets that are able to be hit...not sure about damage as i really dont like using FAW

I would not really ever use high tier FAW for anything Omega is much better there, lower tier FAW in PvP is perhaps good for knocking out pets (shield repair drones kill (I mean heal about as much as transfer shield strength)). And in borg PvE you end up doing less damage since you hit borg that regen far to much. Faw is really only a pet destroyer, it still is nice in 1v1, but 1v1 cruisers are kinda a pain both for the enemy and themselves (although there was one aux2batt build that I went up against once that was really nice).
