I am currently experiencing extreme lag and stuttering in-game. Not sure if it's just a connection hiccup or something else is up.

Anyone else getting hit by lag?

Neverwinter just launched and is having lot of lag as you would probably imagine for launch day. As cryptic's servers all seem to be linked in some way I would imagine its a knock on effect.

it will probably clear up after a while.

We tried a No Win Scenario (FED) and failed wave 5, because the whole game became a slideshow... It began when we joined the instance, 2 players were kicked from the server and had to log in again.

It's really unplayable at the moment.

If there linked or using the same rack system then they need to separate them, I'm not a MMO running Expert but I know having multiple MMOs on 1 Rack system is a Bad idea performance wise for the community as a whole. Just look at all the laf Everyone is getting...

Im having the same issue. Seems to have started after the last patch if my timing is correct. Mainly have the issue when im on the ground, esd, drazona ETC.. doesnt seem to be affecting missions QUITE as much as public areas.. i noticed it does the " stuttering" even if im not moving,, which i find odd.
Hopefully mr. C. Ryptic is aware of this issue and gets it fixxed soon,, would hate to have this be the start of a new bug RIGHT before LoR hits.. that would be BAD!!!!!

I have an easy answer for you guys:
It's the launch of Neverwinter's open beta.

Perhaps not so coincidentally, they also have serious problems on that side with lag/rubberbanding.

I would submit on top of that that I am unable to get into the game, either on Holodeck or Tribble. I remain stuck in the launcher's patching stage, and it's been like that for over an hour now. I would surmise that the patching servers are being hit hard, considering all the people whom must have downloaded the Neverwinter installer for the first time ever and are installing the game.

Now is a good time to go do your laundry, wash the dishes, take out the garbage, do your housechores, watch Startrek on Netflix... or go play some other game in the meantime. It's probably going to be like that (at least) all day long.

tl;dr: Neverwinter opening day, and Cryptic servers (login, patch and shards) are getting hit really hard.

    Hi Captains,

Thanks for the reports. Based on what we can see with the network and launcher, all appears well for STO, however, it seems that a few of you are experiencing some issue. So that our engineers can get more information, please reply and post your location, ISP provider and a tracert result pointing to: patchserver.crypticstudios.com

Instructions for running a tracert: http://sto-forum.perfectworld.com/showthread.php?t=225155

Please also post results from a Nettest. Instructions here: http://sto-forum.perfectworld.com/showthread.php?t=225155

    I'll pass these along. Thanks!

    Cheers,

Same here, have seen nothing like this bad before. Huge rubberbanding like as the game was going backwards in time.

Lag would be an improvement I can't even get to the launcher. It crashes whenever I click on the icon.

I think its time to get past the server stability fixes and actually look at getting some proper server upgrades so that sto can be its "own identity" and have dedicated servers that arent shared. Seems as though neverwinter is playing havoc with STO today.

I dont think its user end tbh, I dont believe in coincidences and since NW went into open beta today and the chat is shared then the network must be as well.

"Critics who say that the optimistic utopia Star Trek depicted is now outmoded forget the cultural context that gave birth to it: Star Trek was not a manifestation of optimism when optimism was easy. Star Trek declared a hope for a future that nobody stuck in the present could believe in. For all our struggles today, we haven’t outgrown the need for stories like Star Trek. We need tales of optimism, of heroes, of courage and goodness now as much as we’ve ever needed them."
