Getting a t5 fleet ship (need advice)

The Mirror Vo'quv has been my ship for a long time now and I'm starting to feel like the Fleet Vo'quv will always be out of my reach. I've been in quite a few Klink fleets, but in every single case I end up being the only active contributing player, with maybe one to two people logging in every few weeks. I've tried looking for active fleets that worked on their projects, but they all seem paranoid if you ask anything about their star base.

So the question is, how the heck are so many people flying around in t5 fleet ships? Are some fleets selling access or something? Is there some secret channel I don't know about where this stuff is being auctioned off?

Not sure. The House of Beautiful Orions is the farthest along with a T5 shipyard and it won't be completed for another few days, so in theory (AFAIK) there shouldn't be any KDF tier5 fleet ships flying around yet.

Fed side, you just need to hang around ESD and offers to buy access to T5 shipyards will come up in chat, but I've not heard offers for KDF T5 access as of yet.

Which T5 ships are you seeing? The 200K FC Bortas was given away at the two-year anniversary event, so having that is no indication of T5. I don't recall of seeing a Vo'Quv or B'Rel with fleet skin as of yet.

As far as avoiding asking about the Tier status, just try asking for a large, active fleet instead. Then the problem becomes how you get Provisioned Store Access, which has been a problem for me, though mostly in Fed fleets (once I was seventh on the Leaderboard for a fleet and denied access to provisioned stores  ) Join, socialize a bit and give some to the base for a while and then ask about provisioned access if exact rules aren't posted for it.

I managed to find a good KDF fleet early on, right after the start of S6 (7th KDF Battlegroup -- currently T4 on everything main base, but locked down recruitment for the upcoming Romulan alts.)

    Edit: read a post wrong.
I think the House of Snoo might have T5 shipyard. There may be other fleets at T5 shipyard that don't post about it publicly.

I don't know where this individual gets his info, though.

Judging by the lack of mention of the fleet I am a member of, I think he guesses most of it.

The Fleet Ning'tao is an amazing little ship. Any and all captains can do absurdly powerful stuff with it. 3 lt cmdr universal stations just think about it !!!

Apologies, I thought I had info, but had mis-remembered, I only left that part in for notice that the post had been edited really.

It would be really handy if Cryptic had an official leaderboard or something like that for fleets.

That makes sense now, I didn't realize that ship was part of a give away. I was thinking the people who had access to a T5 base were just buying that ship...

Thanks for the advice from every one else as well.

The Ning'tao does look really cool, but I have a lot more fun playing carrier ships. I really like the Capital Ship style of play, which gives me my own little fleet to command how I see fit. If I could, I would even sacrifice some of my console slots to add more fighter bays;).

Hi. Supreme Snoo here. The glorious and most honorable House of Snoo is still Tier IV, but making great progress on Tier V. We're probably a month or two away from 5?

We don't advertise it, but we do sell access to our starbase.*

    Jekzi Gitor

& captain of the I.K.S. Snoo Snoo

*unless that's against the T&C, in which case we definitely do not do this.

So long as you're not demanding folks throw wads of real world currency at you, you're fine.

    I get this alot.

Them: Join us and together, we will rule the Galaxy!
Me: ummm...how many ppl in the Fleet?
    Them: ...(end transmission).

I only ask because I want to join a Fleet where access to Fleet Stores won't be a draumatic emo I'm holier than thou high school clique chatfight.
I'm in a smallish Fed Fleet and we have no such issues.
Hence, my question regarding the number of members.

Based on the fleets I've been in, big, medium and small will still sometimes have issues with giving provisioned access. Small ones will restrict access because they can't power through both the Provisioning projects and the points for upgrade projects at the same time (and compounded when an actual Upgrade is up). Big ones will restrict access because, you being new, haven't given as much to the fleet and they often feel you haven't 'earned' the right for provisioned stores as the older members have. Medium sized usually bounce between the two reasons. Obviously not all are like this, but my, admittedly limited, random sampling has been. Sometimes a fleet will change from being fine with handy out access to nearly anyone, to having large restrictions on who can buy things.
