    i sure hope they keep balance in mind when adding these new powers for romulans
    maybe add something for feds and klingons too
    stands to reason each core should be able to do something that other types cant do


    also hope they take another look at hazard emitters since we keep having to remove more and more plasma

    As stated in past blogs, if you own the Valdore, you can use the Valdore skin on the Mogai Heavy Warbird Retrofit, if you own it too. Voila! Tier 5 Valdore :cool:

    It wouldn't be the same, just because it looks like a valdore doesn't mean it handles like one, unless your implying that the base Mogai and Valdore are identical in weapon/console/BOFF layout as well as flight characteristics.

    The abilities we got to try out on Tribble were pretty fun, though should be reduced in capability in PvP.



    Anyhow, got to ask why is the D'Deridex called the "Warbird Battlecruiser?" You got the same thing going with the Galaxy-X "Dreadnaught Cruiser".

    Sort of going overboard with the military designations, just choose one. :P

    Miracle Worker and Quantum Absorbtion are two different abilites on completely seperate cooldown timer systems. So they have tied the cooldown on a ship ability, to a career ability, locking one out if the other is used?

    That'll make some Engineers mad for sure.

    Nope, I misread your post. However if you're under such heavy fire that you need these two abilities to be used back to back, you probably aren't going to survive long afterwards as they both have long cooldowns. You could stagger their use, but that would still leave you with about a minutes worth where you've got no coverage. You could fill that with other healing, but you'd be better off with just using the core power to kill your opponents faster.

    You're comparing a T3 ship to a T5 ship -- the stats will of course be different between the two :) Your concern was "There's NO tier 5 Valdore variant to use the top tier powers with." As we have not released stats, and the stats on Tribble are not necessarily final, I figured you were concerned you wouldn't be able to fly a Valdore (costume wise) at T5. The Valdore listed on the chart in the blog is a Refit of the Mogai Heavy Warbird, similar to the listed T'Varo, Dhael and D'ridthau.     So Romulan ships just became the most powerful ships in game. Looks like I can retire my Starfleet Officers on May 25th. After playing in a Romulan ship, where everything is easy mode, who would want to go back to using inferior ships like the Federation's?

    Captain Gecko said on a recent interview that warbirds may give up additional things that FED/KDF take for granted to balance their singularity abilities. His possible examples were console slots or adjustments to boff seating.

    @Branflakes: Is there an option to use the T'Liss skin on the T'Varo Retrofit? I bought the starter pack, and would be over the moon if it were the case.

    Also, I'm in the closed beta too and these powers are anything but overpowered. They are incredibly situational and those who think Quantum Absorption is like miracle worker it got nerfed already so don't worry. I will say this however, don't even think about taking away console slots or BOFFs for such situational abilities. Wait until we can actually test these powers at end game not just level 21! Only then will we form a solid opinion of their worth.

    I've been testing on tribble and I think it's a great mechanic and not OP at all.

    Brings up the question; if you can just "disable" the ship skin are we going to see tier 5 versions of the Excalibur, Vesper and Exeter-class starships for Starfleet?

    You misunderstand.

    I'm not comparing a t3 to a t5 ship, I'm comparing 2 T3 ships (Mogai and Valdore) because you imply a T5 Mogai with a valdore skin will make it a T5 valdore. IF the T3 ships are NOT identical visual or otherwise, why would a reskinned T5 Mogai act like T5 valdore (that doesn't exist) ?

    I was hoping for a T5 Valdore ship to use these funky new powers with, not a reskinned T5 Mogai.

    Hmm, well that's very disappointing to say the least. So it would seem that the KDF still have the only end game TOS ship then. Since it's not a hero ship I would have thought it would be an option, any chance of this or a similar ship in the future? Since the special console for the T'Varo is pretty much a copy/paste of the TOS plasma torpedo would make sense for it to be an option.

    in my head canon the bops archer encountered that look like the t'varo are actually from the 25th century and they were time traveling and up to no good. they should make a mission were you go back in time and go after them!

    I thought the refit Constitution was also off limits for tier 5? Still, it seems odd we have a 22nd century looking "warbird" at tier 5 on the Romulan side, yet Starfleet can't have late 24th/early 25th century looking ships at that tier.

    Could we get a Valdore model closer to the concept art shown earlier please, with the more bulkier wings and wing-tip cannons?

    Pretty please? Even I would have to pay a "costume unlock" for it with extra zen, I would do it. That concept art is the best Trek ship ever designed.

    Or it could be a skin for the Fleet Mogai Refit? Just let me buy it and take my money!

    The Valdore and Mogai don't look to be comparable in size, unless the art department got the windows 8X larger on the valdore. The Valdore looks quicker than the mogai, who on Tribble can compare the stats for me ?

    Tell me, is it overpowered to have a ship with instant access to Miracle Worker (Quantum Absorption) or Gravity Well (Singularity Jump) or a Beam Overload which happens to affect all beams, not just one (Singularity Overcharge)...on top of having access to those abilites anyways?

    You think ships wouldn't become utterly indestructable with the ability to use Miracle Worker and Quantum Absorbtion back to back?

    Sorry, but this all feels very OP to me, just by reading the descriptions, and since Cryptic has a history of making their pet projects stronger than what already exists in game, my gut tells me that my feelings are correct on this matter.

    I've been using these for about a week now, and you're not even close. The Romulan ships are currently running with -10 to all subsystems and the abilities are nowhere near as powerful as they seem. They're nice but quite a few of those testing them would rather have the +10 to all subsystems back*...

    As for the "instant access to Miracle Worker", it's actually closer to TSS1 or 2 with an increase to hull strength and no bonus shield resistance. Stats here
    As for back to back usage, good luck with that. Using one of the abilities will put the others into a 60 second cooldown which, once completed you'll have to start building charge again to use them again. Bank on 15-30 seconds to get the charge back again to use the ability and, assuming you actually need it at that time, it'll be good to go.

    Don't get me wrong, the Romulan ships are potent. But they aren't godly.

    *Personally, I just think the subsystem power cost needs tweaking and it's all good

    Are we ever going to see another Romulan ship with raised/upswept wings? Apart from the T'liss/T'varo-class ships, most Romulan vessels fall more into the D'deridex/Mogai types. I wouldn't mind seeing higher tier ships looking like John Eaves' concept here on the right: Nemesis Concept.

    I must confess to being a bit baffled about the decision. The fact that the T'Varo is about a hundred years older (seen in Enterprise!) than the T'Liss makes it even more of a daft decision. Ok, no T5 connie we get it. However, please explain the logic behind this... to me there simply isn't any.

    I think they tried to fix the "modern looking" warbirds from ENT as a new up to date ship as a refit, or new version of the old ship.

    Basically how the Akira and the NX look a lot like each other, with one being much newer then the other.

    You can fly a D7 at t3, I bought one on tribble, but yeah I would LOVE to have a ship material with the Romulan bird on it. For me personally it is the only cross-faction ship I'm even tempted to use when LoR goes live.

    You'd have thought the Romulan Republic would've had a few still hanging around, especially if they're strapped for ships in the early part of the story.

    Oh for god's sake. Instead of buffing science and engineering powers and captains for everyone, PWE/Cryptic is just giving upscaled versions of the more important ones to all (read, tactical) Romulan captains, albeit on "long" cooldowns? Which, I can't help but mention, frees up boff slots (if they would have them anyway) for "alpha strike/DPS buff/heal" powers.

    In the meantime, all T5 warbirds have access to all singularity core powers, and singularity overcharge works with dual cannons?

    Yeah, that sounds balanced, and totally fair to engineering and science players.
