So far, so unbelievably good LoR is. Even I was surprised by how immersive the new storyline is. So far however my favourite bit of the story has been getting to actually know my bridge officers, seeing them all with distinct personalities oh and by the way I freaking love that my away team will occasionally banter with each other on away missions.
Though it feels kind of like picking a favourite child, I have to say I feel more attached to Tovan Khev then the others. Its the little things about him, you know? Like I do appreciate that you are both friends during the tutorial before getting your ship and I find myself always asking NPCs where his daughter is, if she ends up dying horribly I will burn every planet from here to Andoria!
Whats everyone elses thoughts on the BO's we get? Another shout out from my end would be to my Orion BO, she is so sarcastic and funny. I love her.

he's looking for his sister, not daughter. but yes, i like how that you get to know your initial bridge officers before they decide to join you. the banter might be scripted, in which if you dont take certain BO's with you, someone else will say the exact same lines (Example: No Torvan in Smash and Grab)

I love the little things they added into the story line to make the first few bridge officers seem more like a real part of things, instead of a random grab bag with no personality. I may not be able to make myself upgrade from these original officers easily.

Yeah he's with you from the moment hell breaks loose and, id feel lost without him now although my spiffing uniform puts his rags to shame ( he needs some sharp attire ).

also i hope every rank up you get that gives you a new ship with more bo slots, the first mission you do is for another background boff.... keep all those candidates for training >>
Fortunately he's a purple boff, so it's easy to keep him, but others are green. I guess an upgrade will be inevitable at some point, but that's not good news.

as i mentioned in another thread. I dont know if you can actually dismiss him. I think the option is greyed out. you cant even change his name, unlike Satra, Hiven and the reman chick.
While I do like the ideas of boff backstories, I'm not crazy about the fact we can't dismiss Tovan if we want to. That's me though. I do get that he seems to be heavily ingrained in the storyline
Let us upgrade the Seleya Ceremonial Lirpa and Kri'stak Blade
Perhaps, but it would be nice if we could change his uniform, even if we can't change his face or proportions. Beyond that, I like having a boff who actually matters, too.

This. So much this.
I understand that we can't change their physical appearances, I wouldn't have it any other way - but being forced to have them wearing those... those... RAGS... it's really telling you something about the quality of the Republic fleet.
Infinite possibilities have implications that could not be completely understood if you turned this entire universe into a giant supercomputer.

I could be wrong, or fed false information, but I seem to remember hearing somewhere that they were working on fixing it so the first Boffs could be changed/costumized, at least to some degree. Which I agree with. I mean really, I get a nice spiffy uniform, not just for joining the republic but also picking an ally, and my Boffs don't. Talk about picking favorites.
Not to mention it makes the whole Tal Shiar episodes a little odd. I mean, how can they not realize I am a planted spy when my entire bridge crew is out of uniform. I don't think the Tal Shiar tolerates such things.

easy. they are still undercover, so since your the one leading them, you are the only one who needs a proper uniform when interacting with tal shiar.
inb4 the inevitable "if we have mandatory boffs, let them not count against our slot cap". (Though there is something to be said for that, Tovan's starting skills, especially if we can retrain him eventually, makes it really hard to argue against him.)
Besides, it's a touch of the old RSE: between him and the officer we get after around Neutral No More, we now have our array of political officers reporting back to our governments!
Are we ever going to get an option to change their uniforms? I understand they're part of the storyline etc but when I want to make a crew wearing tal shiar uniforms it becomes problematic. I always loved customising my crew on fed and kdf don't stop us doin it with romulans please!

That's exactly how I felt when playing the missions until I found out he was still hung up on his ex.
He didn't seem that hung up on her. I wasn't jealous. To me, it seemed more like he was using his personal knowledge of her as a person to gauge her actions. TBH it seemed like a subject he wasn't comfortable with. Hopefully it was a messy breakup.
