4 AM...DCs right on time.

What is it that caused me to get constant DCs and minimal data transfer right on the nose at 4 AM every night...? I know these DCs rotate around the world, but since they caused my heart attack 5 weeks ago, I am suddenly more curious to know why they happen and why U folks don't seem to be able to prevent/fix this problem...?
It is not my Internet as I seem to be able to do anything else I want except play STO.
Anyone techy got a solution for these guys...? PLEASE...!! I enjoy the game but can't really afford another heart attack... SERIOUSLY...!!

    Heart attack? It could be the proxt server you are using. Run a traceroute and see where the congestion is.

    I'm now unable to start a connection to the account server to relog after I disconnected. This is just unbelievable. :mad:

    Edit: Never mind, just a hiccup in the connection between the two - one that lasted a lot longer than usual.

    Your ISP might be doing huge data transfers or system maintenance at the time, believing that the majority of its users are sleeping - which would be a logical assumption base don it being 4 AM. I'd run some TraceRts and nettests to see where the hang-up is.
    STO is about my Liberated Borg Federation Captain with his Breen 1st Officer, Jem'Hadar Tactical Officer, Liberated Borg Engineering Officer, Android Ops Officer, Photonic Science Officer, Gorn Science Officer, and Reman Medical Officer jumping into their Jem'Hadar Carrier and flying off to do missions for the new Romulan Empire. But for some players allowing a T5 Connie to be used breaks the canon in the game.

    I just wanted to thank U all for the input. I believe this last response is probably right on target.
    I have made my living for almost 37 years in Quality Control of one sort or another and CAN be too direct for some folks. I also am EXTREMELY aggressive about solving problems through research and eventually full comprehension of the situation. This behavior is usually rewarded by success in all my endeavors, public cudos and financial compensation. This being said, it is driven by an extremely aggressive nature and a generally hidden and EXTREMELY BAD TEMPER that is only kept under control by a good, social upbringing combined with a very strong will.
    I only explain this to clarify for the younger folks and others whom may not understand such things as to how this caused my heart attack. To answer U simply: intense, persistant frustration with a problem that I was unable to find a fortified, intelligent explanation for.
    I will close now by repeating my thank-you to those whom tried to be helpful and provide me with useful information. To the rest of U, please contemplate this: it is much easier to criticize and thow out frivolous comments than to actually help deal with a problem. I hope U realize this before it is too late, or are at least content with the lot in life U are creating for yourself with such behavior.

    your modem lease could be set to 24 hours and it renews at 4am :-)
