How Do I Skip the Tutorial?

I understand there is a way to skip the tutorial for new toons; that after character creation a pop up window appears and you are given the option to skip the tutorial.

Well this doesn't happen for me. I have played 7 toons all VA and each time I had to go through the Tutorial. It's driving me crazy.

When I finish with character creation, the screen flickers for a second or two, I see my character's back and he is standing in a blackened room/area, then it switches to the interior of the ship under attack from the Borg. It seems like I skip over (no pun intended) the screen that allows me to forego the tutorial. Is there an Option I have to pick? Deleting and redoing a new toon doesn't help and neither does rebooting. Any ideas what to do?

    Hmm ... that is strange.

Does the opening cinematic play for Fed toons?

"Critics who say that the optimistic utopia Star Trek depicted is now outmoded forget the cultural context that gave birth to it: Star Trek was not a manifestation of optimism when optimism was easy. Star Trek declared a hope for a future that nobody stuck in the present could believe in. For all our struggles today, we haven’t outgrown the need for stories like Star Trek. We need tales of optimism, of heroes, of courage and goodness now as much as we’ve ever needed them."

The one with Leonard Nimoy's voiceover? Yes, then straight into character generation.

I just tried making a new character to test, and this is what I got, before the cinematic would have played:

This is the screen that pops up for a second and disappears!

And I got it wrong, the order is Character Generation, 1 second screen, then cinematic, then onboard ship. So how can I get the above screen to last more than a second?

Make sure you're not pressing anything after you hit play. After the screen shows up and disappears, check the bottom right corner of your screen. Another dialogue screen may have caused it to minimize. Look for a button that says 'Welcome'.

Not pressing a thing. Nothing in the bottom right corner other than the cinematic. No button, no welcome. Ugh :(

Depending on when you rolled up characters, it might not pop. If you've done the tutorial in the last couple months, though, it should.

In the mean time you could always sit in the tutorial and grind up "Liberated" on your character, then wander into ESD with a (usually) endgame title on your Lt 1, and confuse the six people that figure out something's off...

Have you checked your keyboard? It might have a stuck button.

I don't know then, as I'm not experiencing the same thing you are. If you don't just have a stuck key or something, then it might be a bug you should bug report/take up with tech support.

The last character I made before testing this was about a year and a half ago (slightly under, as it was just after the F2P transition) and I had no problems getting the option to skip. Though it is a valid point - I know that if you haven't created a new character since they added the option to skip the tutorial, you'll need to go through the tutorial at least once with a character made since that change to get the option to skip it.

Do you have any accolade notifications as soon as you begin? The skip window pops up, then vanishes because you are getting the 100, 200, 300, etc. days subbed accolade.

You should have a button in the bottom right to open up the skip dialogue again. At least that is the way it works for me.

I guess it's been longer than I remember in creating a new toon. I started a new one, went through the whole tutorial, then created a second new one and that one gave me the option to skip.

Thank you everyone for your support and assistance! :D

i believe if you hadent made a char since F2P you had to go through the tutorial at least once after then to get the option to skip.
