Can't decide which ship to get for my Klingon engineer. He's in a Vor'cha refit now, so the Tor'khat would be more familiar, but I've always been intrigued by the Kar'fi carrier. Discuss.
I use the torkhat as my second ship behind my gumby when I want a change of pace
The torkhat can be a beast you can use dhc and get them on target on most things and it hits hard
The karfi is great fun the small hull can be annoying against transphasics and plasma burn but it is a balanced ship and the frigates are great for debuffing and dropping tricos on the enemy
I would say the torkhat but I'm biased because I love that thing
----=====This is my opinion you don't have to listen and no one else has to read them these "OPINIONS" are based on my exploits and my learning other people will have their opinions and that's fine just don't knock my way of doing things thanks=====----

I do PvE and PvP. I generally set up for PvP, because shuffling two sets of gear, boffs, and doffs, around is annoying.
I've never run a carrier. But the Kar'fi just looks cool.

That's pretty much the way I roll just not as much PVE anymore
I love carriers and the karfi is good for a carrier just all depends on how you want to play
I play my torkhat like a heavy escort running crf and APO pinning people with tractors and EWP it can take a massive beating even though I'm a tac
I play my carrier slightly more non-aggressive I have a set of beams and a set of cannons depending on what I come up against I go for polarons plasmonic leach and a 200+ flow cap rating and it does really well I just find it hard to find a niche
For example my torkhat does more damage and is easier to move around and my voquv is twice the support platform(especially the mirror universe)
However there are some great builds kicking around and with a bit of practice can be a great tool
And like you say there is nothing that even comes close to '***** your dead!' looks like the karfi does

Speaking as an Engineer in a Kar'Fi, it's my favorite combo in the game. Engi's abilities make up for the smaller hull, and the better maneuverability keeps you in the fight. The Cruiser does more burst damage and is a bit tougher, but a good skill loadout coupled with two hangars means you are still right up there for DPS. Carrier playstyle is very different from Cruiser style, so take a few fights just to figure out controlling your pets.

As they said you can use DHC effectively in the Tor'khat.
If you can buy both test them and see which best suits your playing style.
