I'm looking to choose between the Fleet Scourge Destroyer-R and the Fleet Tor'kaht Battlecruiser-R. Any suggestions?
Forget the possibility of PvP, for so much has become pay-to-win, never to be balanced. Forget the promise of exploration and research, for in the grim dark future of Star Trek Online there is only war. There is no peace amongst the stars, only an eternity of carnage and slaughter, and the laughter of thirsting publishers.
I run the fleet torkhat on my tactical captain and in my opinion is the best cruiser in game alongside the ugly ferengi thing
It can layout massive punishment can equip dhc if you like even using beams it still hurts
It can also survive a lot even with a tac behind the wheel
However the destroyer is also one hell of a ship I haven't flown it myself but a couple of fleet members have it and it is very very good
But both are very different play styles the torkhat normally has to use EWP and tractors to pin things whereas the destroyer is obviously more of a dogfighting escort style ship
----=====This is my opinion you don't have to listen and no one else has to read them these "OPINIONS" are based on my exploits and my learning other people will have their opinions and that's fine just don't knock my way of doing things thanks=====----
Ah, I forgot to mention that I'm currently using the Breen Chell Grett, and finding it a bit mediocre. I'm not sure if it's due to a bad build - the tank/healing abilities are sufficient to keep it alive in PvE and most normal STFs, but the damage output is less than I expected. I've not really put much thought into the Science-related options available, and I'm guessing that's why.

I'm actually using the chel grett on my kdf engineer ATM
I find that fonding burst is my biggest problem against bigger targets but other than that its a brilliant ship
I run 3 dhc one dbb with 3 turrets and the cutting beam
I run crf and BO normally try to initiate one of the two power boosting ability right before the beam overload
The torkhat will play pretty much the same tbh so maybe that isn't the best choice for you maybe see what others say then go from there

Well, the Tor'kaht looks like an improved (mostly) version of the Chell Grett in terms of base stats; hence why I was drawn to it. However, I would think that there is a fundamental difference between the two, simply because of the battlecruiser having an engineering backbone (which I am more accustomed to) rather than the tactical focus of the Breen destroyer. My character has almost no points put into the science skills, though, so I don't think the loss of Science abilities moving from the Chell to the Tor'kaht would be such a big problem.
edit: I was also thinking of a beam/torpedo build on the Tor'kaht out of personal preference.
edit 2: I also wouldn't mind feeling like a true Klingon once again. Those alien ships don't have the same feel...
