Since CBS isn't willing to allow Cryptic to make the Constitution-class T5, I would like to see what types of builds would be viable for an STF for the starship. Now, most would say that the T2 ship is underpowered and has a very weak defense. In my experience working with shuttles, a good build can withstand a fair amount of damage while inflicting sufficient in return. I would like to challenge the community to come up with a build for the T2 Constitution-class that could not only survive an STF, but be victorious.
This is my current TOS Constitution-class build suggestions and critiques are welcome.

A shuttle is SO MUCH faster that it is harder to hit. Still a shuttle or the Connie cannot contribute enough to an STF, even if you just TRY to blow up Probes with your core breaches...
YOU COULD DO IT, IF... you could put a Constitution skin on a T5 ship like the Excelsior Retrofit or Ambassador retrofit.
Sorry...

If you had 100% uptime on emergency power shields 1 and put 100 power into weapons with a dual beam bank instead of a Beam Array you would do as much damage as you are likely to in a Connie with as much surviveability you can get with the ship.
A couple of Conn doffs for Tac team is also advisable... beyond that however I'm fresh out of ideas

Please do other players a favor and do not use that ship in pugs. The ship will not contribute enough, no matter the build, to be helpful to players who are going into it not know that you are handicapping yourself (and the match). If people know going in thats one thing, but surprising a pug team with it is inconsiderate.
You say T2 Connie in thread title and OP but the ship you describe is the T1 TOS bundle boat. Which is it?
...Oh, baby, you know, I've really got to leave you / Oh, I can hear it callin 'me / I said don't you hear it callin' me the way it used to do?...

He did not mention pugging at all. He said this was a challenge, and politely asked for input, not to be crucified by the STF inquisition...
One of the ways that many people link up to do some missions is through pugs, therefore its a possibility that he might to that. I'm not crucifying him at all, just asking that he be courteous of others, should he consider using it in pugs. The suggestion of the challenge indicates an intention of using it in that type of situation. I have seen lower tier ships running around in STF's, no matter the build they handicap the group. Other players should be allowed to know that this ship, no matter how well the build, is coming and will create a possible hindrance to the outcome. Just common courtesy.
What about Normal STFs, like ISN? The people who grouch and complain about terrible STFs usually stay away from those, since it's a cesspool of novice, "Technicolor Beam Boat" players.
It wouldn't make much of a difference there, is what I'm getting at. A well prepped T2 Constitution could easily outdo a Technicolor Odyssey with teamwork, buff/debuff coordination and superb handling and control.

First, I guess I didn't realize that the TOS Connie was different than the T2 Connie. In any case, let's look at it from the T2 Connie since that would have a slight advantage over the TOS one.
Second, the point of the challenge is to produce an durable and viable ship to use in an STF Normal run, whether it be private or pug. People spend a lot of time building different ships on here, it would be nice to have some of the effort focused on a ship that most, if not all, Trekkies enjoy. Plus, it gives those players who are at that lower level a chance to see what can be done with a low level ship.
Third, I have been in many different STFs where the so-called "best ships" fail epically while the worst seem to actually do well and survive. Of course, I have see the reverse as well. I too have become enraged because players are not guarding Kang, they blow up the cube, they go to the wrong side, or they stay too focused on one kill that they let the probes slip by. And like some of you on here, I have entered an STF just to have some fun with any ship I wanted to try out--including a shuttle and a Tuffli (back when the loading glitch existed). So I do understand the anxiety that the STFers get when people start to mention using lower tier ships in STF. No one likes to hear those blue TOS phasers firing while trying to get optional.
Again, I offer a challenge to the community to create a build could be used to be both viable and fun to fly during an STF, even if it is Normal.
First can the Tetryons and use the Experimental Romulan Plasma BA, and the hyper plasma Torpedo. The plasma console and the Romulan ZPE console. That would be the best chance to use the T2 Connie.
I use my Exeter for ISE all the time, equipped with Maco Mk XI Gear, a Borg Cutting Beam, Fleet Advanced Phasers, a purple Mk XII torp, a point defense console, an assimilated module, an enhanced plasma manifold, phaser relay and a shield generator console. I have no problems contributing.
I use a dummied down version of the build on my TOS Connie and run ISE sometimes.
T2 ships are viable in STF if you know how to fly them.
I've used an Akira numerous times and seriously pulled my weight.
As for the Connie, not sure how the stats are. Cruisers are in general more difficult to fly than Escorts so your best bet would be stand at distance and pump out lead (or whatever 25th century variant).
This program, though reasonably normal at times, seems to have a strong affinity to classes belonging to the Cat 2.0 program. Questerius 2.7 will break down on occasion, resulting in garbage and nonsense messages whenever it occurs. Usually a hard reboot or pulling the plug solves the problem when that happens.
I'd equip the Breen Transphasic Cluster torp, along with the Breen set, on the Connie. That and coupled with a DBB and Beam Overload, you can do some serious damage. Perhaps some Tractor beam mines in the rear to help with probes/assimilated ships in general.

First off if you want to try this you'd be better off getting the Exeter from the Z-store as you get better console and BO slotting I believe.
I did make a T2 Exeter with a full Phased Polaron build using the Jem'Hadar Engines and Shields and the Borg Deflector. I used it to run the Tau Dewa dailes just to TRIBBLE around and found it to be a fairly effective ship. I would never run it in an STF though because you are at such a huge disadvantage in hull and shiled strength vs. the higher tier ships. Effective builds though can be done for this ship, though as I mentioned at the start, you're better off going with the Exeter and just skinning it to look like the Connie.

Not only is a T2 ship at a disadvantage of hull and shield strength, they are also short by about half of the boff abilities and weapon slots of a T5 ship as well.
I do wonder however, why isnt the borg assimilated console on your list?
With the mods that console gives (especially for your weapons with the crit severity and crit chance mods...)
you would throw even (a bit) more damage around...
I do however have reservations about using that ship in normal stf's. But then again this comes from a player that has used his nx class light escort in SB24 and even klingon scout force... :P (and my miranda for that matter...)
I would try to squeeze in the borg console (if not for the crit mods, then for the hull repair, which is nice)
Just my 2 cents... I only hope they are worth something... :P
It is, in fact very possible to hold your own at a Normal STF in every single ship ranging from T2 to T5. I know I've been in numerous T3 Elite STFs flying my Akira before the Armitage was released and guess what? As a competent team, we managed to get the optionals on all 3 space events. I doubt you'll have trouble in a Constitution during a Normal run if you know what you're doing and your ship has the right equipment mounted.
I did it for fun one afternoon. I equipped the T1 and T2 up to my high level gear. Then hit a cluster to see what I can do. I was holding my own on the smaller ships. However the end large ship was my undoing. I just couldn't hold out long enough.
I thought of doing it again, but resetting some of my BOFFs to see what I can do. First to get more BOFFs so I won't reset the ones I have now.

Myself and four others decided to get together in PublicEliteSTF and get a Connie group going for ISN. (Although I admit, I wanted more of an offensive punch, so I took my NX-class instead)
We completed the STF - optional failed due to time, but generally speaking it went well. Warp core breaches were the main issue with dying. But yeah, we finished it, got the rewards, cheered for taking down the Borg in Kirk-style (or Archer-style, your pick), and left.
One of the most interesting STFs I have done. Too bad Cryptic changed the ship selection panel, I was gunning for shuttle STFs afterwards.
