Need some feedback

By feedback I mean constructive please, and not troll like. So I am going to start collecting items I need to craft a complete set of weaponry, and consoles mk XI for the expansion. Given the cost of Dilithium in this process. Its going to take time to get everything together and made. These weapons I plan on using my eventual cruiser/Romulan warbird.

Now comes the feedback part. There used to be a dreadnought guide, and this persons guide, or proof that a dreadnought was a good ship to use had good pointers. It relied upon all turrets and cannons, with one torpedo launcher. I tested it and it does do pretty good. I am also like to keep my ships somewhat canon. So I was thinking of a hybrid.

The Hybrid would be this one forward plasma torpedo launcher, two forward disruptor dual cannons, one forward dual plasma beam array. In the aft I would have one plasma beam array, and three disruptor turrets. This set up based upon a tactical officer.

Well you might want to hold off on the dual cannons, because if you're looking at using a D'deridex when we get it, it may not necessarily load cannons.
I remain empathetic to the concerns of my community, but do me a favor and lay off the god damn name calling and petty remarks. It will get you nowhere.
I must admit, respect points to Trendy for laying down the law like that.

I'm having an epic brain freeze, does the NPC D'deridex use cannons? I know it has the DBB and the hyper torp launcher...

I would advise holding off on crafting things like cannons until we know the layout of the upcoming PC Romulan ships. Things like the D'Deridex may not take cannons, it may turn like a shopping mall and require RCS consoles, that sort of thing. Crafting materials for late game gear is pretty uniform so I'd say stock up on top end mats and particle traces, along with a very healthy supply of dilithium for the unreplicatable materials, and only take the crafting plunge once you know the stats.

On top of all said above, there may be a crafting revamp coming with the expansion, as it's one of the things PWE has been wanting Cryptic to do.

Also, it's bad form to mix base energy weapon types, as it reduces the potential damage you can get from tac consoles. There may be a way to get Romulan Plasma (Disruptor and Plasma procs on a Plasma base weapon type) easier Romulan side than the current Reputation system.

Your feedback makes sense. The only reason why I assumed the warbird would have dual cannons. Is in nearly every tng episode, the warbird was firing a disruptor blast. To me if your going to give all klingon ships cloak, and the ability to arm dual cannons. Then It would make sense they do the same for the Romulans. The Federation is the only power that primary relys upon beams.

That is true, but it was also firing single shots from the 'beak-ish' shape in the front of the ship, which would translate more into single cannons, not necessarily DCs and DHCs.

NPC D'deridexs use torpedoes, beam arrays, and a DBB.

Dont get me wrong, I wouldn't be against single cannons, but the animation for this is the same as turret fire. If I am going to flying a warbird shooting little disruptor blasts arnt going to do it for me. Thats just an opinion.

Of course. There's a lot of unknowns right now about May.
