I've come back and it seems everyone and their great aunt has now got a JHAS which mixed with defence boosts are like squashing a fly with a coat hanger
The joke that is cryptic have announced a third faction which is hilarious due to the fact they havnt even got the kdf sorted out and don't seem to even want to copy and paste some content across
I can see the death of this game in sight which is a shame as it is a cracker and works perfect If you want to shoot scripted Borg shame they can't relay that across into pvp content
Oh and icing on te cake graviton beam is still there which is a sucky damn thing 50seconds sat doing nothing great thanks alot cryptic
Yes I know my build sucks the JHAS aren't op it's me I should get acc 3 weapons and learn how to clear GP and so on

Well, first of all not everyone has one, but a fair amount do.
Secondly, if you bothered to read the few details about the new faction you'd have read "you will now be able go start at level one on all THREE factions!"
Every season/lockbox people spell the end of the game as we know it. And yet, here we still are.
First of all I said "it seems" I didn't say "it was". I know it's not "everyone" It just appears that instead of seeing the odd 1 in a pug match now you see two three maybe 4 at a time
Secondly I read it all you Taty and just because they said that it doesn't mean it will operate like that you can run a kdf toon up from level 20 but if you do the actual missions the amount of bugs and missions that don't make sense will drive you insane by the time you reach level 23
Thirdly nothing potentially this big has been attempted before based on the fact they can't implement a new torpedo without masses of glitches and bugs I can't see this doing the game any good

I don't have a problem with them I can fight one get the odd kill against one but most can't do either it f***s balance up which in turn effects the match
But another argument for another day the point was the amount of them has definitely increased massively compared to the last lottery they held

if they could only make really good sci and eng ships for the money, but no, they only keep giving stupidly op tac ships to win money, the devs say the bug is not op, but all of them are tacs and all of em ride bugs, but well, i dont find the bug a big problem, i find the kumari better, and its all those defense, resistance, stun procs and crew bugs that's making escorts op, but hack they dont even mind, it is making money and making tacs happy

The biggest problem for me is the massive defences even under tractor nowadays the amount of misses is crazy
The Kumari isn't a patch on the bug I'm afraid with dhc it's all about turn most semi to un-skilled pilots can stay on the rear of a Kumari the bugs bopesque turn and speed makes that impossible
Which ships are the devs gunna make better one which on average nets them upwards of 100. Dollars for those who pay to win and not grind or one which nets them 10 ??!!??

The entire JHAS is a conceptual failure.
In the show it is a over sized fighter, nothing more. Its fearsome reputation only comes from the first encounteres where the weapon and shield tech could not be countered. After that was fixed, they where flies on the windshields. A fact which the game entirely ignores.
Realistic, the bug should not be more then a t3. Or as t5 version come in a striped down version of 3 that fly in formation.
Instead we get the devs lovechild of the ueber escort of doom.

I'm at the point now where I'm just going to leave if I see two bugs on the same side in a game. One of them is a pain to handle, but two of them are very literal gamebreakers.
I won't be able to tank two JHAS for more than a minute, protect my allies against them, or come close to inflicting lethal damage. Games involving two JHAS can be over in less than five minutes, with single JHAS racking up 500k damage and 0 healing. That being said, I believe that the JHAS could be reasonably balanced AND retain their top-tier status by drastically cutting down on their hitpoints.
Leave it to Cryptic to take the Star Trek IP's most oftenly destroyed ship in TV and the movies, and make them the supreme warships in STO. The JHAS were destroyed so frequently, in such large numbers that it amazes me to see them represented so well in STO. Battle scene after battle scene, they were being destroyed quickly. And it wasn't surprising to see in these scenes that they were being destroyed by the threes :eek:
Canon-wise, these things made Mirandas and B'Rel's look like they were as sturdy as the USS Enterprise-E. In STO, they are the very essence of the best of the best of warships.
People really overestimate the value of your ship type in a team situation. That said, I do think the ubiquitous nature of the JHAS is getting a tad old and it's rather pitiable that Cryptic keeps re-releasing it whenever their piggy bank is feeling empty.
