Red Alerts -New Idea

I was trying yo get into a red alert in Tau Dewa when I noticed something.

It started in instance 7, where the RA had already been finished by a team and I came in to an Andorian escort killing a mirror ship that had spawned from a rift.

So, it kicked me back to instance 13, where an RA was also active, so i tried it, brought me back to the same instance as before, there was another ship that spawned in that I recognized from before.

So, my understanding of the RAs is that they can pop into a given instance, thats the only instance that it should exist in (barring randomly generated RAs showing in multiple instance at once).

In this case, the RA followed me through multiple instances and I could not escape it (calling to me, saying "it might work this time")

It hit me, that the issue here may be that when 1 instance pops its generating the button for ALL instances, and since the only one going should be 7 in this case then that is the only instance that could get in proper and had in fact finished the battle already when I got there.

Other instances are getting the button, but since they are (apparently) all feeding into 1 instance of the RA it wont work right.

Maybe I am right, maybe I am crazy, but if this might help I hope someone is thankful somewhere.

    I am adding to this... now I have got into 2 red alerts today and they both ended in a server not responding message kicking everyone out... something is wrong here and NEEDS TO BE FIXED!!!

    I am pissed as hell right now, finally get a working RA and its even further broken by this TRIBBLE.

    DO SOMETHING!

    Everyone else is mad too... since the start of the season it's been broken.

    I say, they ought to either fix it now or take it out. IMO. :(

    What needs to be fixed is the way we get romulan marks, seriously it takes the TRIBBLE.

    I could if I wanted to get 3-500 omega marks an hour but your lucky to get 1-200 rommy marks in a day without blowing your damn brains out.

    You get less than 20 for azure nebula, what the hell.

    1 daily sector patrol for 60 (75 during rep event)

    Also all the planetary TRIBBLE omg I really felt the urge to just blow my brains out with a shotgun just going round getting my sig done in all the transporters.

    Just to stay on topic, I think I have managed to get into an active Tholian RA 2 or 3 times.

    I think maybe the problem has to do with the server detecting an instance with an open player slot and routing you there, not checking to see if the mission is already completed/failed. Every time I enter a "broken" RA there's already another player there, usually in the process of leaving the map him/herself. Of course, not actually knowing the systems behind the RAs and only having moderate knowledge of general programming means I could be completely off track. :P

    The universe has a wonderful sense of humor. The trick is learning how to take a joke.

    Sounds like a pretty solid conclusion to me.

    What they should do with them since they have always been problematic is just convert them over to PVE queue missions.

    out of the last 30 or so RA in TD I have gotten into 3 (third being today). Of the 3, 1 ended up with 3 people in it and failed miserably. Second was a great success. 3rd was close, but not quite. Frustrating but if I could get in more than 1 a week it wouldn't be so bad.

    Queuing up to do them would be fantastic. Heck I would likely do more of the others as well if I didn't have to hunt them down all the time. Since you only get a reward once a day as it is, it could be similar to CE in that you get rewarded marks once a day, but you can do it as often as you want. Should you want.

    It would be nice if this was allowed more than once a day as it is since there is so little you can do to get marks. its a pita, but better than most (or all?) the alternatives.

    Hi everyone i kind of feel the same way about Red Alerts, I think it should be a PVE on RA about if you see in the achievement RA for all Sectors are 200 visits. How can anyone get all 200 in all Sectors.

    Second thing is when is Star Fleet Command going to be in STO for lvl 50's or vice admirals.
