People should not get banned for flying a ship of their choice that's bulls**t
I'd rather have someone flying a shuttle than sitting AFK

No one brings a shuttle into the arena because they enjoy the ship type -- they do it to TRIBBLE over other players.
If they wanted an all-shuttle arena, then sure. But you aren't going to damage any tier 5 ship in a shuttle, nor can you heal, or control, or do anything useful.
The only reasons players do it is to grief their team, and die quickly so they can collect dilithium.

Flying a shuttle into the queues is giving a free kill, each respawn, to the other team. It's a joke. If you do that, you're an ******* griefer.
Flying shuttle is just as bad as being AFK. Hell maybe even worse, because some AFKers will run away and hide. So even if you're down one man, they may not give an easy kill to the other team.
I will be honest I don't even have a shuttle on any of my kdf alts never did the mission
But now I realised how much it gets up people's noses I'm gunna switch back to my fed alts and step into my shuttle...because I can tell you now you lot aren't goin to tell me what I can and can't fly!
For instance I play mostly kdf and the 5 cap n holds I played today had 10 different odyssey and galaxy's classes all with rainbow beams now on about the 3rd match I flew up to one of them and Parked my bop uncloaked about 1km off this galaxy I used no buffs or heals and didn't fire any weapons it took literally 3 minutes of play time for this thing to take me to 20% hull
Now I can take my tier 3 battle cruiser(the d7 looking thing) into a pvp cap and hold run for about 15-20 minutes and get around 500k damage so I ask you this whos more in the wrong?
And I bet you now I could of done more damage than most of the oddys that were out there in my shuttle with 2 weapon slots

Agreed.
I've pugged in my Peregrine once or twice before just for lulz. Even got a couple of kills. (And I got reported...) I don't make a habit out of doing that but I honestly don't see the problem if anyone chooses to bring some unconventional ship into a random PvP queue.
Worst case, the match is over in five minutes and you go on to the next one. And as often as not, the lunatic in the shuttle or Miranda or whatever actually knows what he's doing and is more effective than Mr. Clueless in his shiny new Kumari.
...Oh, baby, you know, I've really got to leave you / Oh, I can hear it callin 'me / I said don't you hear it callin' me the way it used to do?...

Does somebody inject the slippery slope argument into this? I mean, given the thoughts expressed here and there by certain people...it's not really as farfetched to suggest that slope as it may outwardly appear.
The guy flying the shuttles (is it our old irrefutable friend? - I miss that thread)...is being told that he is not contributing and is ruining it for everybody else. If he wants to fly a shuttle, he should do private matches.
Okay, are there any other folks that might have been told that they're not contributing as well? Are there any types of Careers, Ships, Weapons, etc, etc, etc where somebody at some point has said they do not make a contribution?
At what point, is it really a case that those that do not feel that XYZ contribute - should do private matches - rather than insist that everybody else does, eh?

There are lots of people who don't make much of a contribution to the team and are pretty much cannon fodder for the other tside. It's annoying, but you know they're trying.
Going into a match deliberately flying a shuttle or a lower tier ship you don't stand a chance in, is just being an TRIBBLE to the other nine people in the match. It's pretty much suiciding for dilithium, at least AFKers generally don't respawn when killed.
Of course this whole problem would be solved if Cryptic instigated a vote-to-kick feature. That way no one would need to be banned and people won't have a whole match wasted.

Let them fly what they want, I can't remember the last time I saw a shuttle in a PVP, and it's rare to see any fleet tier ships that look low level, even more so if they ARE Tier 1-4.
The second you start trying to tell people they can't fly or use things that are NOT broken or bugged, you know you're just trying too hard to control stuff.
If I queue up and find somebody like this on my team, sure it's annoying. But it's just an arena. And half the time the other side is a premade with nothing better to do anyway. The end scores will reflect the weakness on your team. If it matters so much, fly with some friends, limit your chances. If not it's just one more thing that we can't control and thus shouldn't waste time moaning about.

Because it would ruin the only remaining use for shuttles in the entire game and TRIBBLE over the competitive shuttle-sales market, as without the ability to PvP in your shuttles, there is no reason to have one, as apparently they can't outlaw shuttles from PvP without completely eliminating shuttle PvP, just like you cannot run private Shuttle or Tuffle STF anymore.
They should really remove those restrictions from private queues: If we want to horse around in private by running completely goofy attempts, we should be able to!
Even then, implementing such a ban in public would not stop people from showing up in Mirandas, since Mirandas are a legal starship category, and people in Mirandas are allowed to PvP. Some of us even LIKE Miranda PvP.

Fine, I don't ever want to see you post or complain in OPvP about "spamming" premades.
I think THAT had more to do with trying to salvage/protect the reputation of STF as a viable example of end-game content-it was becoming a fad, after a while, for teams of shuttles to routinely hammer ISE, then post screen-shots of the feat, (thus proving that even the "elite" stf's were, basically, too easy against a prepared team of good players-regardless of how little said players were actually carrying into the event!
Yeah, but that wouldn't do anything about Miranda STFs.
Yeah, but that wouldn't do anything about Miranda STFs.
Shuttles are stonger in some ways then the starter ships because the shuttles scale to the user with their hull. It's funny seeing a 18k hull shuttle but a 10k hull Miranda

A ship filter would be awesome for public PvP. A sensible one that is. No ****ing shuttles!

If you want to fly a Shuttle, create a private match with shuttles.
If you want to fly T2/3/4 ships, either buy their Fleet counterparts or level an alt to that level and PvP there.
Don't TRIBBLE over the rest of us who actually want to compete by bringing RP fantasies into Arenas or CnH.

He can just use no shields and no armor consoles and keep flying to the enemy and suiciding, or he could just AFK at the spawn.
