I've come back to the game after a long hiatus and am a little overwhelmed currently. I have a 50 Tactical Federation character and coming back decided to try a Klingon Engineer.
I've been reading the forums and trying to figure out which weapon setups would be good for cruisers or larger ships. I put all beams on my current ship which seems to help so I don't have to keep trying to turn and face smaller ships but I'm open to any help or suggestions you may offer.
Going all beam might not be the best solution for a KDF cruiser, except maybe the Bortasqu', but even for her many would use other setups rather than beams.
The turn rate of KDF battlecruisers is generaly superior to Fed. ones, so getting a set of DHC on target should not be a big issue.

DHC on Battlecruisers DO work. However, be aware you have to be good at keeping your bow towards the enemy. This can be difficult. Ironically, my opinion is a BC outfitted this way can be harder to fly than an escort, BOP or raptor.
I'm currently experimenting with maneuvering 'tools' like liberal Evasive Maneuvers and AuxToID. It also helps a lot to learn throttle control if you want to pursue this type of config.
I used to use beams and torps on this ship (Fleet Vorcha) and that does the job in pretty much any PvE, but I decided to change it up and see if the DHCs would kill more NPCs quicker and more efficiently. I'm spoiled by my escorts and BOPs
My goal as an Engineer was a ship that could take a beating and dish out damage over time and to fly some of the bigger ships/carriers. I've almost made Captain and was thinking of the Orion carrier.
I've been trying to read up on the forums and do some experimenting. Any success using the larger ships as semi-tanks damage over time or does everyone use DHC and a BoP?
Anyway, thanks for some feedback and I've enjoyed my time back!

Just because we have them doesn't mean they are superior two a couple klingons in BoP.
