a c-store item 2000+X zen
"logs from another time and place"
what it does is allow you to acquire grind y content for your new character based on your old one.
say i have a crew full of blue & purple doffs & boffs on my fed ship
maxed out my scores for doff missions
i would be able buy this from the store and it would provide
analogues of doffs, class & quality wise
boffs, there are about the same number of races so defaulting the uniform and changing the race without changing the features
gear & items, on those boffs also moved over, but is is reduced to mk xi blue in quality
the +X part is things like roster expansions for doffs & boffs
and a tier or 3 of the rep system unlocked
for me anyway, its the loss of 'time invested' that keeps me using my fed character, knowing that to have the same iotions, it will take weeks of grind i would pay not to do so i could get on with enjoying content without the painfully process of redoing all that grind time.
so what do you think? add to? dismiss?
is this something you would want?
I leveled my Fed and KDF mains in parallel, and for the immersion an fun factor I wouldn't have done it any other way.
Want more KDF players? MAKE THEM AVAILABLE TO PLAY AT LEVEL 1 WITHOUT REQUIRING A FED CHARACTER FIRST.
...Oh, baby, you know, I've really got to leave you / Oh, I can hear it callin 'me / I said don't you hear it callin' me the way it used to do?...

yea, that makes sense, would need more content. to level with though. on fed side you cant get the next episode, you just fly into sector & hit an enemy engagement.
you do the same on the klink side and its funny when the fed players try to kill you rather than the npc's.
i just wanted a way to go play my kling character but without the ''by the gods i have to go through all THAT again''
at the very least i should have been able to hit pi-canis & regulus to blow up fed npc's while leveling.
Well, I figure the grind would be a little easier if they invested enough creative resources into making things different from the Federation side. I.E., don't carbon-copy the low-level missions the Federation has.
Putting everything into the KDF perspective makes things a lot more interesting, especially if you're leveling a KDF character for the first time, or for the first time in a long while. My favorite KDF missions/content are the ones done from the proper perspective. The Fek'lhri arc is a good example.
The problem is, this would mean Cryptic would have to give enough of a s**t about the KDF to put in serious creative resources and development resources to actually flesh the faction out, rather than just copy+pasting the Fed stuff and modifying it to have a flimsy KDF wrapper. . .like they did with some of the dual-faction mission content.
My PvP toon is Krov, of The House of Snoo. Beware of my Hegh'ta of doom.

The kdf is supposed to be a different experiance to fed*, and having a transfer would feel like im just using a bad carbon copy of my fed toon.
*Which drives me mad when feddies cry for klingon things

I fixed that for you so I can agree with it.

Hah. That's a three year old debate.
