Simple solution to AFkers in PvP Arena

With the new rewards attached to PvP Dailies and repeatable quests, there has been a major increase in the number of AFKers in the matches. As we all know this ruins the match for eveyone else by unbalancing the team numbers. After much thought, I have come upon an elegant ans easy solution to the problem. The one catch is for this to work, we ALL have to take part. Details follow:

The reason these people AFK is to collect the rewards, without having to actually particpate. We all know that. The part we are forgetting, is that to collect to he rewards, they have to be present when the match is COMPLETE. This is the key. Most likely these AFKers are actually AWAY from the computer.

So, the solution is actually very simple. If a team has an AFKer, EVERYONE else on both teams leaves the match. Since there is no leaver penalty for the Arena, we can all reload our que and get quickly into another match. Meanwhile, (and this is the fun part for us) the AFKer is sitting in amatch that will never complete. They will return from AFK and find that they have earned no rewards.

For this to work, it requires that we ALL leave. I put this out there for everyone to consider. Please comment and if you are willing to take part in this, say so in your comment!

    I think it'd be hilarious to have a match consisting entirely of two teams of AFKers engaging in a mutual staring contest, each trying to force the other one to do something, but neither wanting to do anything.

    Just have an auto kicker added when you're idle or out of combat for too long in a pvp match. Make it a debuff or something, if you don't enter combat within 60 seconds you get booted.

    So I have to immediately jump back into the battle if I get blown up? I can't spend ~20-30 seconds changing out consoles, bridge officers and duty officers after I come across a nasty string of cheese spam, and then hope I get back into combat before I'm auto booted?

    What about loading times? For me, I get D/C'd often, ever since S7. That would be unfair for us unfortunate players.

    Not to mention that for those of us that use cloaks, it will sometimes be a minute before we have decided on a target and a plan of attack.

    Subject's been talked to death.

    We can't have a votekick as it would get abused, A LOT.


    We can't measure activity on healing as that might alienate those who naturally don't heal much.

    We can't measure activity on damage as that might alienate those who naturally don't do much damage.

    We can't have anything that measures activity within an instance coz the PVE'ers haven't complained about AFKing in STFs/Fleet Mark missions enough yet.

    WoW has an idle kick in their battlegrounds, and it works well. If programmed correctly, it will work. "Programmed correctly" are the key words here. The worries mentioned above are solved if the system is done correctly.
