The people who end up playing in 2 hour no kill games arent doing it right. And sadly for those people i shed no tears. The game would benefit and pvp as a whole would benefit greatly from increased hull and shields/ slower/ lower healing.

This was mentioned in another thread but was sadly closed before i could input. Anyhoo carry on

i was saying this, cap resistance at 25%, not 75%, and double hitpoints. spike wouldn't be the only thing that worked anymore, healing effect would be much less too, healing a lower % of hitpoints then it would now.

Most cruisers are already obselete in PvP. Granting more HP and Shields, which I assume you're including Escorts which can already tank just fine with their maneuverability without the benefit of increased HP and Shields, would cripple all cruisers to uselessness.

On top of that you want to nerf Healing. Although, nerfing healing without boosting HP and Shields might possibly make pressure damage viable again.

All the passives granted by rep, consoles and Doff stacking are more of an issue, imo.

Maybe just play a little with the numbers and change the cap and hps for various ships different way. Escorts in particular should be not able tank better than most other ships.

So your saying 2 equally matched opponents who match each other in every aspect of game play are doing it wrong? Surely killing yourself upteen times to get 1 big bang kill is questionable. :)

Cap resistances. Cap the maximum amount by which you can increase your weapon damage. Cap the amount by which you can increase your turn mode.

    And so on.

Once you have hard limits on those, you can start balancing for a given set of ships and equipment.
