Andorian Ships Updated:
- Phaser Dispersal Array:
- Increased the damage of the Overload attack.
- Decreased the charge up time from 4 seconds to 2 seconds.
- This no longer shares a category cooldown with Cannon: Rapid Fire or Cannon: Scatter Volley.
- This now has a 30 second shared cooldown with the Tachyon Blast from the Tachyon Induction Relay console.
- Tachyon Induction Relay:
- The Tachyon Blast from this console now increases damage to the target's Shields by 25% for 15 seconds.
- If you have the three piece set bonus, your Wing Cannon Platforms will also benefit from this change, but their Tachyon Blast only increases damage to the target's shields by 5%.
- This no longer shares a category cooldown with Cannon: Rapid Fire or Cannon: Scatter Volley.
- This now has a 30 second shared cooldown with Wing Cannon: Overload from the Phaser Dispersal Array console.
- Wing Cannon Platforms:
- Increased the Hull of Wing Cannon Platforms by about 25%.
- Increased the Shields of Wing Cannon Platforms by about 25%.
- 3 Piece Set Bonus: Updated description to indicate that the Wing Cannon: Overload and Tachyon Burst that your Platforms will use is weaker than your version.
- This is a text change only.
- Updated the FX and icon for the Cannon Overload attack to indicate that the power is an AoE.
- This is a visual change only.
Thanks to Renim, we examined some of these changes by him..well being a target..
First off.. the Tachyon Blast is going to be a Scary effect. Not the shield drain so much as the Shield Resist Debuff. But that how ever wasn't the thing that was really scary. It is the fact that the buff Stacks from multiple Sources.. That means if you have the wing platforms out.. Their attack, if it hits, will also provide a one shot debuff. Slightly less.. but still scary.
The Cannon Overload how ever, despite it's change to 2 second charge up, is still going to be too long in PVP. Because during that 2 second charge up (Which is more like 3 seconds with the way the cannons fire) you still can't use any powers. So if you don't have any buffs up before hand.. Your a sitting duck.
The platforms upgrades to hull really is not that much.. their hull gets to be about 1k more.. so it is still going to be very squishy in PVP.
The change to Cannons powers not going on cool down for the console effects is nice. But considering that if you activate a console power it'll supersede the Boff power for that fireing cycle, you might find your self wishing you hadn't used it, or lowering your damage for a moment.
All in all the changes are for the better in some ways.. But Fear not..because at least these are on an Escort, and not on a Cruiser or carrier. Right?

Using a common Regenerative Shield Array Mk X, with 96 shield power:
Base: 25.90% shield resist vs. phasers
With wing cannon tachyon burst debuff: 7.37%
With wing cannon + one wing cannon platform: 2.74%
With wing cannon + two wing cannon platforms: -2.12%
With EPtS1 on, base resist was 44.56%, which was lowered to 20.43% with all 3 debuffs applied.
In other news, this is going to be scary, especially when used preceding an alpha or while the target is focused. Shield tanking will be much, much harder for the 15s that this debuff is active.
(Similar things might occur with the elite fleet disruptor proc, but that's for a different thread.)
Love how they can add that to a console in a day yet Sci has been begging for quite awhile to get something so useful added to their shield stripping powers with no luck.
Bet it gets added to a new ultra rare doff in the next doff pack. Blah.

Better damage for the Wing Cannon Overload.
Better shield striping power with the Tachyon Blast, adding shield resist debuff is just icing on the cake. And the Tachyon Blast shield strip isn't that heavy in PVP thanks to resists from PI.
The Wing Platforms able to stack on the shield resist debuff is nice too, but they are still fragile so it is acceptable and not too broken/overpowered.

Honestly, the Chimera's FAW Overload feels faster then the Kumari's Cannon Overload.
For example, with the Chimera.. it's <Sound effect of charge up> Which takes about 1 second.. then BLAM BLAM BLAM BLAM during which time your free to buff your self.
The Kumari, even with the new 2 Second charge time is: Chargeing...Charging....And.... FIRE.. which takes about 2.5 Seconds...during which time you can't use ANYTHING till it fires.
