Q: (psycoticvulcan) Would it be possible to redo the KDF tutorial mission where you have to run around Qo?noS?

Dstahl: Yes. We have someone working on changing the KDF tutorial right now. It is scheduled to be released in a future update.

Little is remotely vague about this answer :D

I'm daring myself to hope that this is the start of filling the Level 1-20 gap that KDF players have been asking for.

May someone with a more objective/practical mindset help me think of other possible realistic reasons why they would redo the KDF tutorial mission?

Without further information, I'll assume its someone at Cryptic tweaking the mission on their own time.

Uhm....because the current "tutorial" is actually wasting 20 minutes of your life by having idle conversations with characters you'll never meet again in the game? And also maybe because it's mandatory to do even with your second, third and so on KDF char?

    I enjoy the Qo'nos jog.

The Fed tutorial is all, "Ho hum. We're so awesome even an Ensign can spank the Borg."

The KDF is, "These are the people and this is the culture you're fighting for. It's not pretty, but it's yours."

Perhaps if your last contact is J'mpok instead of the security chief so he can give you a rousing speech to that effect... But don't drop the jog.

An idea for the KDF tutorial would be starting out in the Klingon academy going through your final exams (going over controls, combat, kits, etc.) Afterward then do the First City jog to learn the city layout and meet and greet people it would be useful to know.

If they ever expand KDF into a true second faction, then early missions could be part combat against the federation (raiding bases and skirmishes against fleet patrols) and dealing with inter-House (and occasionaly in-House) politics. Remember, Klingon politics can be pretty (and occasionally literally) cutthroat.

I like that idea someone had that you are an officer on board a Klingon Bird-of-Prey and it turns out your Captain is an Undine, so you have to kill him and take the Captain position - which is where your journey on the KDF character starts.

Wait for hard evidence from Stahl before starting hymes on him. He said much in the past and delivered much less. Don't trust the man.

Oh, I'm well aware of people's opinions of him.

But in the past, he's said things like 'We're working on more stuff for the KDF'... without actually naming what they were working on. Here, he directly stated they were working on reworking the tutorial.

It's hardly hard evidence, but it's a step up from what we usually get. And that's something as far as we're concerned
