beams are greedy with power, run 8 of them and you need to set weapons power to 100, spec about 6 into weapons performance and warp core efficiency, and ether run EPtW1 with full up time, or run 2 copies of AtB with tech doffs.
you want to overcap your weapons power that much so you fire more shots at higher levels of power, and so it never drains you as low.
this makes eng captain's 2 skills, nadion and EPS transfer, redundant though. its pointless to run an eng if you want to use beam arrays on a cruiser to deal damage.
dont expect overcaping to make much of a difference though. beams are totally fail at dealing effective damage
It just seems like compared to other cruisers with similar builds even a2b my power levels drop off bad down to like 50. I can get them up but i cant maintain seems kind of buggy and was just wondering if anyone else noticed.Im carrying a2b eptw batteries eps consoles even 6 beams are tough.
throw on two of the DOFFS that grant +200 energy drain resist when using DEM. Omega Amplifier will randomly allow for 3/4 of a complete volley of unrestricted 125 weapon fire.
