Norway and Yeager dammit... I still want my Typhoon and Jupiter though. JJ Trek The Kelvin Timeline is just Trek and it's fully canon... get over it. But I still prefer TAR.

"Support Cruiser Starship." Hmmm... And the audio interview said "lots of Phaser firepower." The former sounds sciency and the latter sounds tac-heavy. Dare I hope the Ambassador is a somehow equally balanced between tac, eng, and sci?
Edit: Thinking about it. The Ambassador class was canonically the first Fed starship class to have beam arrays. So a Scicelsior boff layout with a phaser variant of the Romulan heavy plasma array?
Is it really so difficult for you guys to put out all the details on something at once, as opposed to dragging out blogs over three days?
Is it really so difficult for people to not complain about things for the sake of complaining? I mean we're getting two free ships. This is how they always present news like this, it builds suspense, gets us excited. They want us to speculate.

Vague statements and lack of specifics have cause all manner of kerfuffles between the dev team and players, ranging from simple misunderstandings at best to flat out falsehoods at worst. Not to mention it's quite annoying to be told repeatedly "stay tuned for that one piece of information you actually want while we keep talking in circles without actually saying anything".
Playing the "I know something you guys don't know" game with the playerbase is never, ever the right move.

Dev Blog #32: Backstory on Anniversary ships.
Dev Blog #33: Anniversary ship stats.
Dev Blog #34: Anniversary ship console configuration + backstory.
Dev Blog #35: Backstory about the backstory.
Dev Blog #36: What flavors the Anniversary ships come in.
No lie, I was totally hoping that the story would go something like this:
In 2409, the rescue vessel U.S.S. Enterprise F is dispatched to answer a distress signal received from the Enterprise C, a starship that disappeared during its maiden voyage to Narendra III, sixty five years prior. Captain Va'Kel Shon and his crew are joined for the mission by the Enterprise C's designer Dr. William Weir. Dr. Weir briefs the crew that the Enterprise C was built to test an experimental gravity drive which generates an artificial black hole to use the immense gravitational power to bridge two points in spacetime, greatly reducing travel time over astronomical distances.
Lol. Too bad we didn't have to go recover it from a decaying orbit around Neptune.
Its like you people have forgotten how the Dev blogs work.
1 Dev Blog on the Ship, then the next Dev Blog is the stats.
Its been like that for nearly every ship released. They've always come in pairs.
They haven't forgotten. If it's not exactly what they want, they'll complain. And if it's exactly what they want, they will complain about why they didn't have it at launch. Trolls gotta troll, and whiners gotta whine, it's the Internet.
oh noes!!
i didnt know there were still mayans in the 25th century hehe
That would actually be a great foundry mission. I mean why not, Star Trek had native American planets more than once. A "Mayans didn't die out, they got on a UFO and live in the Oompa Loompa Expanse now and have their own planet" works.
Tempted to do this myself now that I think about it...

THIS. Seems more like a troll post.
Okay, so one takes a look at the types out there looking for a Support starship. One finds the KDF Support Vessels.
In looking at that, one might be tempted to start looking at the Nebula...
Hrmmm... oh, how the speculation will continue!
Maybe ... maybe not.
It was nice to learn how we are getting them but they know we all are dying to know the stats. ... So they are stretching it out.
It's expected. Its what they do.
Lockbox gets announced one day and the stats for the ship comes out the next.
Same in this case. ... and so we continue our waiting.
U.S.S. Maelstrom, NCC-71417 (Constitution III-class/flagship) --- Fleet Admiral Hauk' --|-- Dahar Master Hauk --- I.K.S. qu'In 'an bortaS (D7-class / flagship)
The mission and tier 3 ship reward are permanent, but the tier 5 is only during the event?
Yep, Branflakes confirmed this over here: http://sto-forum.perfectworld.com/showthread.php?t=530651&page=3.
Yes.
Question to Capt. Fiber (aka Branflakes)
That's what it looks like to me. I can get behind a free iconic ship for newbies even if hey will only use it for a few days before they move on.
You must be new here. Noon PST tomorrow you will get the stats - they day after the announcement post, just like always.
If 1 year is considered new then, yea! lol... Thanks for the info jaturnley!
1) Will the story be the same for Fed and KDF, or will the latter faction have their own unique mission involving a Kamarag class battlecruiser?
2) Will the Ambassador and Kamarag ships be going in the Foundry?
