It was stated that the T3 ships will always be claimable in the episode but the free T5 ships would only be claimable during the anniversary event (like the Ody was previously).

Brandon mentioned that lvl10 and up can play the event but you had to be lvl 40 to unpack the boxed T5 ships on a toon.

KUDO's to Cryptic to making these available to everyone for FREE!

I am intrigued by Dan's comment that the Ambassador has a LOT of Phaser firepower - Can't wait to see the stats

Nice interview. Looking forward to that blog.

"Critics who say that the optimistic utopia Star Trek depicted is now outmoded forget the cultural context that gave birth to it: Star Trek was not a manifestation of optimism when optimism was easy. Star Trek declared a hope for a future that nobody stuck in the present could believe in. For all our struggles today, we haven’t outgrown the need for stories like Star Trek. We need tales of optimism, of heroes, of courage and goodness now as much as we’ve ever needed them."

Ambassador...Tactical Cruiser, then. I know the blog's likely going up today, but still - last moment speculation, eh? :)

You know it's going to hit the fan (even more) when a ship class that's more than a century out of date outshines every other offensive Fed cruiser (barring the Excelsior). Kind of makes you wonder how stupidly OP the T5 Connie would end up being based on that trend...

Well, my Idea for a T5 Exeter/Connie would be: LTC Tac/Eng/Sci/Uni but some might think that was OP. :D

Hey now, I still want my T5 Fleet Oberth Retrofit Carrier. It doesn't have any hangar bays, but you're able to launch a Redshirt named Biff at your target. EVA suits for Biff will be available from the Dil store. :)

Honestly though, until we see the specs (and not only see them, but fly it as well) we're not going to know...

Grind your Starbase to T6 and Embassy to T4 to get access to the Elite Biff Launcher right?

In all seriousness, given the hybrid kick that Cryptic has been on of late I'm of the opinion that the Ambassador effectively has to be more than just a generic 9 console T5 cruiser option.

That's pretty much my point. Date of service and tactical capacity are (currently) inversely related in STO when it comes to T5 Fed cruisers.

If I understand the interview correctly, if you play the mission during the Anniversary event, you can get both the T3 and T5 Ambassador.

After then event is over, the mission will be repeatable for just the T3 Ambassador.

It will always be available in the mission journal after the event ends, but only the T5 ships are awarded during the 3-year Anniversary event.

It can be that an old design schematic is used, but in fact it's a modern powerfull refit, you know, something as the fleet Excelsior is atm. Besides it's suposed to outshine the Excelsior. The thing is, the Galaxy needs to be tuned up just a bit to make it more competitive. Although, I personally like to play slower supertanks :P

I see your point. Is it that the Federation gets more peacefull as time passes by, so their ships are more oriented towards exploration and research rather than raw firepower?
Nah....the Vesta totally undermines my last point. :D

Antares, Challenger, Constellation, Curry, Freedom, New Orleans, Niagara, Norway, Soyuz, Springfield, Sydney, Yeager...hrmm, they are running out of Fed ships (with some of even these being questionable - Soyuz was decom'd). Will be interesting to see how the 2409 designs continue.
