First, I tried to log in with the link that worked yesterday. Of course I got the "failed to connect the the patch server" message. So I looked around and found the update. I loaded it and it ran the "new" patcher. When I logged in the window turned white as if pending an error message. I let it sit for a few minutes and it didn't change. I closed the window and tried to load it again. This time I got the "no connection" message again -- AFTER loading the update. My internet works fine (how else would I be posting this?).
It seems I'm not the only one having issues. My question is this -- why did they change the launcher in the first place? And all of a sudden? Yes, I know they do tell us things occasionally. But wouldn't it have made more sense to release the update BEFORE the changeover? Or included it in the last patch?
Seems to me they're trying to limit the number of people who can actually play. I'm not sure who those people are, given that I doubt our individual systems are to blame.
My Old Blog about things that could and should have been added when I wrote it. Not sure what I want to do with it now. I'll just keep it available now that most of it is outdated.
