Mobius: is it worth it's price?

I've seen that I have enough energy credits to buy a Mobius in the exchange.
But it isn't cheap.
So my question is: "Mobius: is it worth it's price"?

P.S.: stay strictly to the above question, please. I'm not interested in the Galor, D'Kora etc. etc.

I've seen Federation players work wonders with the Mobius. YMMV, though.

IMO, it's the most versatile escort/destroyer ship in-game.

You won't dump out the pure damage of a Fleet Defiant/Jem'Hadar Attack ship. But, you will be able to tank stuff that would blow a lesser escort apart, while doing about the same damage as any escort besides the two I mentioned earlier. Besides that, you can toss out abilities like Viral Matrix, Gravity Well or Eject Warp Plasma that are ordinarily locked away from most escorts.

In my opinion, it is worth the money due to this versatility. I personally used to run one on my Sci character, and while I switched to a Wells class for PvP stuff, the Mobius is still a beast of a ship.

For a little less risk, I suggest that you purchase the Mobius, then transfer your character to the Tribble test server and open the pack there first. There, you can test it out, and if it doesn't work out for you, you can go back to the main server and sell the pack off again.

There is some effective equipment & B.O. configuration to use in conjunction with the Mobius?

Get both the Mobius and the Wells, then load both consoles on one of them. I'd recommend the Mobius because you can timewarp bomb with DPB3 -- that locks down all ships around you, leaving FOUR TRICOBALT MINES in your place while you rewind backwards in time and leaving the poor probes (or gate) with no recourse to escape.

It is especially useful against the gate which actually attacks the mines with BFAW.

If you can't do the wells and the mobius, you can just use the setup detailed in the PvP gameplay forums.

Look for the link to the mobius under advanced builds, and go according to those lines for abilities. You can do fine with blue Mk XI gear, but use the same versions as detailed. That should serve you well until you can earn more EC.

    In short: Yes

To eloborate some: I use the MK XI Jem'Hadar Shield and impulse with the MK XII deflector that boosts shields, hull, etc with full polaron weapons. DPS BEAST!

Turns on a dime, making it easy to keep targets in the fore 45 degree arc. Hull and shields are very good. I'd def recommend the Mobius over the Wells. The only other two ships I find myself flying are the Jem'Hadar Heavy Escort Carrier and the Bug ship.

    Hello

I had the same concerns as yourself but after months of searching/researching and youtube video watching; not to mention reading through the Hilbert Guide/STO Planner/Boot Camp, etc... I decided finally to purchase this very ship four days ago!

Best decision I ever made!! It has the best bridge officer layout of any ship I have ever had (especially for a tac capatin) and unlike the Wells, you can load DHC!! Here is a thread of some of the builds people have been doing including mine: http://sto-forum.perfectworld.com/showthread.php?p=7668241&posted=1#post7668241

Again, it is worth the lobi and if you take into consideration the other feedback received above, you have nothing to lose really.

Apart from the breen ship...its the ship I would use most.

I like both of them with the slight nod towards the breen for the extra weapon slot out back.

A nod goes towards the mobius for turn rate and universal boff slot.

I like the Mobius very much.

I've got two Fed toons using this ship and one KDF, two have the backstep console from the science vessel as well. So yeah, I think the ship is worth it.

Well, in truth I don't like the non-Federation ships in Starfleet: I'm proud of my ships with their saucer etc.
I know that the Mobius is of Mirror Starfleet rather than Starfleet, but Mirror Starfleet in my opinion is more appropriate than the Breen Confederacy... Shortly: "esprit de corps".

I have flown the Mobius for almost a month and love the things versatility I myself use it as a tac heavy Mobius witha LTtac LTC tac and Com tac for my tac boffs yielding a rivaling firepower to the Fleet Defiant and bug. Also as others have reccomended get the Mobius and the Wells as a pair since the backstep gets much more effectiveness with the manheim console. I would however not reccomend using the Manheim unless you need some extra firepower fast since you can easily die from it.

Once again i cannot recommend this ship enough to Tac captains or fans of temporal ships not only is it statswise cool it looks cool and is by far one of the best escorts of the game.

    Ill make this simple.

good pvpers are good as in most ships but the ship makes little differences as well since its doffs, boffs slots, and equipment that is more the key to better ship building.

If you dont have a jem hadar attack ship(akaBUG) then mobius is great for tacs.

    hope this helps.

I can honestly say its the greatest ship I've ever flown in STO. The only ship that might pull me away would be the Fleet Armitage, and only because I love to have combat pets in games.... but even then its not a sure thing. The Mobius can even sport dual Aux2Bat builds! That's what I'm using currently. But before I had fun with a Lt. CMDR sci ability, either Gravity Well or I'd bump up my HE and TSS one rank and use TB1.

Edit: I should probably mention that my love for the Mobius "may" be tinted by the way it hits all my favorite Trek things, the Mirror Universe, Time Travel, and Federation Warships. So I "might" be biased.

I think the Mobius lost something special when they fixed its power settings, personal opinion here and understand it was only an error. Afterwards I went back to my Fleet Defiant.

    The Mobius is awesome!

I've had mine for a couple of months now, and I have not had any regrets. I've also never really heard anything negative about the Mobuis. I have the Temporal Warfare set plus the 2 consoles, 1 from Mobius, 1 from Wells. Awesome awesome ship. I can take on cubes in Elite stf's on my own. (not the tac cube lol)

    We have it.
Now I'll take my time (and dilithium)(and energy credits)(and romulan marks)(and omega marks)(*) to build it properly!
