I'm looking to run a Peghqu' build, but I'm more experienced with BoPs and I'm not sure what might work well on it.
On one hand, it has battle cloak, but on the other, it also only has a TR of 14, compared to a BoP's 21-23.
This makes me think it is more ideal for a hit and run beam boat setup using antiprot DBBs in the front, a quantum torp, and BBs in the bank. But the wrinkle is that it can equip cannons, which makes me think that a survival cannon build might be in order.
Truthfully, I don't know. Does anyone have any experience with this ship?
I run mostly PvE and STFs, with only the occassional PvP encounter in warzones. So I'm looking for something balanced.
I can give a breakdown of how I have my capt's skills distributed too if you need it. I'm running an Eng captain currently, which may seem strange but it helps with survival I've found.
I've got a Tac captain flying one. It is very similar to the Guramba. I've got it loaded with a variety of Tetryon Cannons with a forward torpedo and rear Cutting Beam. It works very well as a hit-and-run, and is noticeably more durable than the BoP's. I've got a Tactical in the Universal station, so it really puts out the damage. I'll occasionally swap it out for a Science for the crowd control as well.
I've got mine set up as a disruptor cannon/APB debuff stacking flying death machine. It's of benefit to stick with disruptor on it, since disruptor consoles will also boost your lotus attack. The ship melts enemies like nothing even with the cruddy green X/XI weapons I have on it (my Klingon char is still fairly new). I love my Chimera on the Fed, battle cloak and disruptors on this thing just make it sublime. Not near the game now, so going to try to remember Boff setup off the top of my head:
Something like that. The APBs might be in the LtCdr spots, but whatever. Not going to bother posting my specific gear since like I said it's all low end TRIBBLE for now. I am very pleased with the general concept though, and looking forward to getting the gear upgraded.
What do you think of this ship and its performance overall?
I like it and find it good middle ground between Raptors and BoPs if built correctly to accent its strengths while similarily covering its weaknesses but like any vessel its performance is as much in its design as its Captain.
So, despite it's lower turn-rate, the idea is still to use cannons? I was considering using it as some kind of Dragon Flagship-like tank build. Less survivability, obviously, but I'm using it with an engineer so I figured it might make up for it.
It flies very well like a cross between a raptor and a BoP, or like a slightly less beefy but more dps minded Battle Cruiser. Under a good build it can function in many roles.
