Breen Invasion!

avarseiravarseir Member Posts: 0 Arc User
Looks like FED and KDF is invaded by Breen. It was Chel Grett everywhere!!

I was in an STF too with 4x Chel Grett and 1x Oddy.

I'm just wondering how did the Ferengi get his hands on so many Chel Gretts?

I can remember last year when Geko said that the Jem Hadar Ship was in a LockBox to make it super rare because CBS did not want all alien ships around ESD.

I guess the ship has sailed now, i wonder why CBS had no objections to the Breen Ship being mass produced like this.

Actually the Ferengi is running a big scam.

Those Chel Gretts are just shuttles with a huge holographic projector mounted on top of them.
The inside is using holoprojectors too but with a t.a.r.d.i.s. app.

In about a month the power source will be depleted and you will see a lot more normal ships again with some red faced captains on it.

But shush...you didn't hear that from me.

I'm willing to bet it's more a case of, "Damn, these players are crazy putting all that work into getting one. Oh well, more money for us."

Ah don't worry. As soon as the 3rd Anniversary ship comes out, the Breen ships will be soo last month. It is like that with every ship. I suspect as soon as the Q Event shuts down so too will the number of captains flying the Breen ship. Granted some are always going to fly one, but it won't be that overwhelming in say just a couple weeks from now. That's how it is with all ships in this game that are new. Ships are great when they have that 'new' ship smell, but as soon as another ship comes around the previous ship is dumped like last night's trash and everyone wants the new ship. The system repeats.

Got mine a few days ago. Didn't even open it. Threw it in my bank and there it will sit till the world explodes or this game ends.

I use it on my sci captain, since I don't have the vesta, and I can use cannon and up to lt commander sci boff. Gravity well + scatter volley 3 + TS 2 = fun. Also, on my KDF I will use it sometimes, because all I have ATM is the Vo'quv, and I want something different.
However, on my fed engineer and tac, I won't use it. I already have more interesting options.

I think this whole CBS restriction is overrated - Hell Cryptic got away with introducing Gothic Punk Cats ala Ferasan <--how the heck they pulled that one off beats me, cheapens the game.

    Then this:

Breen invasion - Now we know who really won the Dominion War - everything else was a lie.

In regards to BUG, there are a ton out there, but thanks to the playerbase jacking up the price to a half a Billion - We evaded the Jem'Hadar Invasion.

Frankly its Cryptic total control now, think CBS looks at this game and laughs, calling it a Trek Joke.

Probably because it was BS from the start ...

Moreover, there is no reason why the Temporal Science Ships should be in a Lockbox ... they are not "Alien" ... so it's easier to get Alien Ships instead of Faction Ships, nowadays ...

Well the ships still aren't account wide unlocks and once you discard them they are gone. Plus you needed to grind for 30 days to earn one and after Mid January there won't be anyway to get one. So it will eventually start being less common.

Anyone remember how many folks were flying the Odyssey when it was given away? We'll we've gotten 3 more versions of that ship and its still not like you see everyone flying that ship. Give it some time and the see less and less of the breen ships.

Actually not true. The temporal science vessel is a 26th century ship, so technically it should even be rarer than any of the other lockbox ships or the Chel Grett which are 24th century ships.

I'm enjoying the way people are naming them.

So far the most fitting I've seen is the "USS Can Opener" :D

I saw a Breen ship named 'USS Legion' the other day. It certainly got its name from the Gospel of Mark, 5:9 "My name is legion: for we are many". I lol'd.

What's more amusing is seeing the number of people who have absolutely no idea how to fly one of these things, and get cut to pieces in the first ten seconds of an STF.

I got the Breen ship for all 17 of my Toons and I have only opened them on 2 KDF Toons. Mainly because those 2 made a bad choice using their VA ship token and there really isn't any "Klingon" VA C-Store ship that floats my boat. My FED toons are all flying Armitage, Vesta or Oddy. And all KDF Toons with Kar'Fi are content.

And the NX is 22nd Century Ship with a freaking Grappler, and should even be rarer than any Lockbox Ship :P ... not mentioning Oberth, Constitution, Miranda, D'Kyr ...... CBS, Cryptic ... like anyone ever cared about which Ships make sense....

Sorry but 25x2min = free Ship .... "Grinding for 30 Days ..." sound a little bit dramatic here :P

This was my thoughts exactly. They tried to justify the scam boxes with this reasoning. Now everybody has a Breen ship, which is not a fed ship and directly goes against their bs statement. Just proves that it was a cop out last year.

The ship is ugly and complete garbage imo...they can keep it.

It reminds me of a flying multi roll toilet paper dispenser, i think ill keep mine on the shelf as a symbol to remind me how much time i wasted for it.

Meanwhile, I will continue to hunt down and blow these things up when i come across em on the battlefield.

The Chel Grett is an Alien hood ornament, but seriously the fanfare love affair will wilter in a month or so.

In regards to Geko statement and the BUG, it was all BS in my opinion. Lore left the building a long time ago and CBS is only reaping in the royalties from its licence. There are loosely recommendations from CBS, but it sure did not take Cryptic long to throw in those Non-Canon Gothic Thunder Cats. :P

I think we can rule out CBS not liking us flying around in non starfleet ships now. It might have been that way in the beginning, but I reckon it was just an excuse to put them in the Lobi store/lockboxes instead of the cstore like they were meant to be.

Sorry but there is, "License holders say no."

Seriously, if CBS decided to pull the license tomorrow over Cryptic trying to argue this then the game would be gone leaving the players out of pocket. The only bonus Cryptic would get is preprogrammed modules for another space based game.

That was the same rationale for keeping the Jem'hadar in limited quantities - CBS didn't want to see them everywhere outside of ESD/Qo'noS.

But obviously that policy (if it ever existed - personally I think it's BS) has changed since there's Breen ships everywhere now.

I think the real reason Cryptic (not CBS) keeps the Tier 5 Connie out of the game is that many players (myself included) would probably never buy another ship if we got it.

Or perhaps they're saving it for one last, big lockbox before the game finishes its run..?

Thats a fair assumption, especially considering how it would have to be a lockbox ship - and we've seen how lockbox ships, in particular, get boosted when a new tier of ships is released. One ship to rule them all.
