    bop's for pvp.
    Everything else: BOP's and Slavers.
Should I start posting again after all this time?

    Here's how it breaks down....

To'duj fighters inflict less damage over a mission than BOPs will, but, they are also much more responsive. They are quick to launch, they are very fast and agile when given orders, and their firepower comes from constant torpedo attacks rather than tactical showboating. As soon as you turn them loose, the target is taking damage.

Birds of Prey inflict more damage over a mission than To'duj will, but, they are also clumsy and somewhat random. They don't fly as well as a fighter so they spend a lot of time plinking with their turret instead of drilling into enemies with their cannons. They do tremendous damage with their high yield torpedo attacks, but since you have no direct control over when they do this, they can leave you hanging sometimes.

Of course, there's no reason you can't have some of each. Use a hanger of BOPs for the heavy firepower, and another hangar of To'duj to keep the pressure on your target. Doing this also lets you "pump" your BOP hangar bay using the faster fighters, since Flight Deck Officers can reduce cooldown multiple times between launches.

As far as other pets: Advanced To'duj fighters do less damage than standard ones, because the huge majority of your fighters firepower comes from torpedo attacks and the Advanced fighters have quantum torpedoes which means their torpedo DPS is lower. On the other hand, B'rolth Bird of Prey Refits are simply better than the basic B'rel pet and are highly recommended. Slavers do extremely poor damage, since pets run their energy weapons at low power settings and their kinetic weapon is a mine which is even more of a DPS hit than going from photon torp to quantum torp, though they do occasionally steal things from the target so they generate some minor income.
