Just got my Breen ship and while opening a few lock boxes right after i flucked a d'kora, now is the d'kora worth keeping it or selling it (I'm an eng) are dual cannons viable on it ? I like the look of it but am thinking long and hard if I want to keep it.

Sit on it for a while before you decide. You could also copy your character to tribble, open it there and try it out without worrying about not being able to sell it.

    Very good advice.

If I take the Mobius out of the equation (for me the best lockbox ship excluding the elusive Jemmy which nobody can afford you just had to luck out) it's my favourite lockbox ship. Certainly a very good ship

Cannons are definitely viable on the D'Kora in battle mode, I had no problem keeping nose-on the target when I was testing it out :)

Copy it over to tribble, and play around and see what you think!

The D'Kora is definitly one of my favourites. I am engineer myself.
I used DHC's and turrets. I also had the Ferengi 3-set, which weaponwise (-the rokkits and mines) I would have changed to more cannons, if i weren't into running the D'Kora more or less in a complete state. Add to this a theta console. Charge your filthy enemies, hit reverse, vent your theta continue backing, laying mines and pepper the now disabled enemies with cannons. When the enemies free itself, subjump behind it and pepper it again. It works pretty well.

Oh. And the built in EMP actually works well with some practice.

When you activate battlemode it stays like that until you choose to go into defensive mode. Then there is a cooldown for going back into battlemode. I don't remember how long that cooldown is. Maybe 15 seconds. Usually, when you go into battlemode, you rarely go back into defensive mode. -unless you have a trail of enemies following you, or you are surrounded by probes and/or spheres. Then you'd hit that defensive mode followed by the EMP-button, rooting everyone behind you for your allies to mop them up. That would also be a good moment to squirt some mines or a breen transphasic mine-torpedo.

And here is why the D'kora is far more awesome than it looks from the outside of the box. Battle Mode takes first prize for "Coolest console in the game", beating even the Plasmonic Leech. Turning it on give you +30 points to your weapon skills, +10 weapon power, and a free RCS console for as long as you want.

The Chel Grett is an overgrown MVAE with extra gun mounts. The D'kora is a battlecruiser in constant beserker rage.

    I wouldn't sell it. :)

yup, the battle mode is sick! plus don't be turned off by only 3 tac consoles. the +30 you get to weapons makes up for that. I run one with 2x rcs, and DHC's making it by far one of the best ships i've ever used ingame. It also got more meat on its bones then the breen ship so you can expect to take a lot of damage and still deal out dps.

I've been flying a D'Kora on my main toon for a while now and I love it. I use antip DHC & turrets and I'm telling you with a tac capt. the balance of damage dealt and healing ablilities is great. You can really tank while putting out escort level damage and finshing off an enemy with a barrage of swarm missiles is very satisfying. I moved the toon that flies this into a krenn temporal destroyer the other day and it took some time getting used to the decreased survivability, I was popping all over the place. I feel like what I gained in DPS was nowhere near what I lost in tanking ability. Nothing against the temporal destroyer, I like it too but I think the Ferengi ship is probably my favorite. One last thing, having bank, exchange and mail on board is a luxury that is very nice to have. You get used to that pretty quick. I'd keep it unless there's something else that you just must have.
