Hello, today I tried testing the effect of the Reman/Romulan sets two-piece bonus on the Omega and Hyperplasma torpedo launchers on Tribble. Unfortunately since there's no way of seeing the speed and defense values of your torpedoes I have no idea how big the difference actually is. First I used both on holodeck and the targetable projectiles all seemed painfully slow. With the set on Tribble they seemed a lot faster, but when I double-checked again on holodeck they somehow seemed faster there too. Has anyone else tested this and if yes what were your experiences?

If you're talking about w/ the Hyper Plasma launcher, they are slow as hell regardless.

I don't have exact numbers, but by using a stopwatch I could discern that by using the reman set bonus I gained 1 second on their flight speed(hyper torp or omega I forget, I think omega so plasma energy bolt) I tested this by having a fleet member stay 10 km away from me. Normally it was about 1 second per km, 10 seconds for 10 km. With set bonus active it took 9 seconds. So essentially the bonus is worthless. Everything else in the game has a better 2 piece bonus you should be wearing over the reman piece of TRIBBLE. It looks great so I guess looks are a tradeoff for functionality. A really big shame.
BUT, to be fair I was using mkxi blue. I won't have access to mkxii purple for another few days. I don't know the first thing about romulan but I sure hope it's not another crappy reman set.

as far as i know the set bonuses don't scale with MK

Thank you so incredibly much. That kind of information is exactly what I needed. Guess I have enough Romulan marks for when I hit T5 tomorrow and I won't lose my sector space speed. I'm not a fan of the Reman looks. Seems like a big, flying, exploding console to me.:D

If you want to boost the hyper plasma torp, get two pieces of the honour guard (or adapted) set and enjoy the 25% damage bonus. It's what I'm gonna do.
That would mean I'd actually have to do Elite. With pugs.

Don't do it. I noticed an increase of only 200 Kinetic damage per hyper torpedo with the KHG MK XII two-piece set bonus.
Still, I'm really impressed by the Romulan Hyper Plasma Torpedo, spamming them in huge numbers with only two purple projectile DOffs and they even choose targets by themselves if the inital target is destroyed before they reach it. This must be the first torpedo in this game which is actually worth having. I hope the pew-pew fanboys don't cry for nerfs ...

Well cryptic's tac bonuses have always been... fuzzy math at best.
With what I could discern comparing my klingons MKXII HG space set 2 piece bonus to various tac consoles, the 25% bonus matches a mkxi uncommon torp console. The console is 24.4% but it will add up as the same had it been 25%. So, upon learning this I switched to my main fed character and went to work. The extra poof by the adapted HG set will show up far more into abilities used than standing alone. For example:
Romulan torp, base damage for me is 2456. With mkxi green plasma console, 2634. With HY2 and TT1, 5831. With console with HY2 + TT1, 6243.
Using omega torp, base damage is 1877, with console it's 2006. With HY2, it's 15,776. With HY2 + console it's 16,919. With HY2 + TT1 it's 16,198 damage. With console + HY2 + TT1 it's 17,342.
So, ultimately, what matters is this: That adapted HG 2 piece bonus will give you a free torp tac console. As far as HY2 + TT1 are concerned, it's an extra 1144 damage, or whatever another .6% equates to. HY3 will net even more bonus. It's considerable. I'm not sure what else I would use once I get this HG set for my tac fed. The torp bonus is just the biggest part of the perk. Assuming it's a straight copy/paste job(and nothing is broken at all, HA), you'll also get 8.8 aux setting, 70% resistance to crewmen loss, 8.8% crew recovery rate, slowly returns crew to disabled status, works during combat. This stuff is great for a tactical captain with small crews.
The HG set is a very worthy addition to your ship. I strongly recommend it for tac captains without JHAS and JH ship set, and even then I recommend it just cause using the same layout year in and out gets dull... at least until I see what the romulan set offers. I guess you should stay as far away from HG and romulan gear as you can if you're pro all cannon, but maybe the romulan ship set will have nice things for you.

The Romulan Space Set is statwise a 99% copy of the Reman Set and has the exact same set bonuses. Only the green hullpaint from the shield is actually unique.

That and the Romulan deflector gives a smaller bonus to stealth abilities but also a small bonus to stealth detection and the engine gives a bonus to Starship Attack Patterns(lieutenant skill) instead of Starship Maneuvers (lieutenant-commander skill).
