I just don't buy it that that many people are winning...almost non-stop. With that many people getting them you would see them stacked up EVERYWHERE.
(I know there was some posts a long time ago with people listing other reasons for not believing it too. Things like peoples alt accounts listed as winners and people trying to send tells to the winners and not being able to)
Yeah I know...tinfoil hat blah blah blah....but with the greed they have shown since PWE took over, would you really not think them capable of deception?

Why bother...
People are buying Master Keys by the truckload apparently...
It's not so far fetched to think they are getting the ships.

I stated it before, and I will state it again, the players winning the lockbox ships are REAL players. I know there was a thread awhile back claiming otherwise, but that is utterly untrue.
The more keys are sold, the more lockboxes are open, thus the greater the chance of obtaining a lockbox vessel. People are earning Zen at a alarming rate at the moment - especially many players who already had accumulated stockpiles of dilithium.
At the moment the market is really bad for Dilithium purchasing, however; It is really really good for Zen purchasing.
Yeah it's real, I've sold some keys on the exchange, and a certain person who's name pops up a lot and has a lot of Jem ships has purchased keys from me off the exchange.
When I won a couple of D'Koras, I was spammed by numerous people asking to buy the ship for 10 million or some other ridiculous amount due to that annoying lockbox ship spam. Never opened a lockbox for just the ship. It has always been for some item in the lobi store. Much cheaper to sell keys, then to open boxes if you want the lockbox ship.

No i dont think they would create a system that flashes random names across the screen, that is too easy to be shown as false.
We are talking about tens of thousands, maybe hundreds of thousands of players, so seeing a few flash a cross your screen is nothing compared to the total number of people playing.
as for seeing them everywhere. why? the game is broken into different zones. each zone is broken into instances. half the games zones are ground so you will never know. not everyone logs on at the same time, with the right character or has the right ship equipped when you happen to be there.
i have about 4 or 5 of these special ships but if im playing my odyssey, or my atrox at the time then you will never know what ive won.
I see a lot of Bugships and Galors and Tholians running around with "U.S.S." designations and bad builds-I suspect the spam's mostly to completely factual-and that it demonstrates that just buying a good base shp doesn't make you a good player.
Yeah, seems there is more Lockbox ships than actual Federation starships. There is almost always one as soon as you enter Hub space or even an STF.

When the lockbox ae released, are usually sell some on the exchange. When the tholian was released, I opened about 15 of them, and sold the rest. OFC, didn't have the ship.
2boxes I sold to someone was opened by that guy. He opened 2 ship from them. I was checking my exchange mail when I saw the pop up. I felt... sad.

The saddest part of this is that people are buying the boxes. They use to drop from torpedoes.
Heh, even if it were fake it wouldn't really change much for me.
I never expect luck to do any kind of work me so but I might consider buying one on the exchange if only the actual gear you need wasn't lockbox locked in the lobi store too.
I actually pray on every new release they don't come up with a ship I really love, so far so good.
The names are real. i talked to a person getting one once and his name flashed on screen. He didn't win it, he bought it on the exchange.
So the message isn't linked to a special box being opened, it is linked to people getting added one into their inventory.
Makes sense, since the boxes don't actually contain anything, so don't be sad if you gave away one and the other person hit jackpot with it.
the box content is only determined at the moment of opening by RNG.
If you opened the box yourself it might have been a doff pack instead or a shield or something like that.
When i got my tholian sci ship, my name graced the green text,
When a friend got his D'kora, his name appeared and i congratulated him
When a fleetmate got two temporal ships in a row, i told her how jealous i was :P

Same here, when a fleet mate got theirs, their name popped on the screen.
Have you seen how many non-ship lockbox items are on the exchange? Hundreds of every item possible is available. Its not that strange to even see 50+ of a lockbox ship on the exchange as well.
And go look how many lockbox keys are for sale. Folks are farming EC to buy those and alot of folks Farm Lobi. So yes that many people really are winning lock box ships.

More Zen = More Keys, nuff said.
And guess what. When I won a ship, my name did infact flyby.

From several player testing on the temporal lock-box
5.5 lobi per box
1/180 chance of getting the grand prize ship.
so $1.15M ec x 180 = $207 million to get the Temporal ship via opening lock boxes
or
$40 million selling now on the exchange:eek:
Captains, they are real, as almost everyone in this thread has stated. Feel free to PM the winners and verify for yourself if you don't believe it
