Plasma proc - is it effective? is it real?

I want to quote that feedback.

First, I think it was nice to see plasma damage proc as part of Romulan Set, but reading that feedback, I begin to question. Has it been fully implemented? Has the % effect be implemented in the plasma burn effect on enemy ship? Does plasma burn also include plasma damage coming from beam array or cannon?

Secondly, I notice that my Borg Plasma beam array Mk XII has lesser chance to cause plasma burn on enemy ships in comparison to before Season 7. Is it only me, or the dev has been working behind the scene reducing the chance of causing plasma burn? If so, please I'd like to get the chance back to before Season 7.

Lastly, I think it's nice to see that the dev keeps observing what's going on in the game in term of feedback from players, etc. But, other than fixing bugs, I don't think it's wise to changing this and that (such as, reducing proc chances, etc). It confuses players and you (dev) may indirectly downplay players effort to obtain those stuffs whose effect you keep changing. It takes time, efforts, and often real money just to get the desired effect and enjoyment in the game. But, then all of sudden you "change" or "nerfed" it. If you want to consider the complain you get from PvP-er, my suggestion is to create something new to balance the game.

Again, my point is to fix game bugs, but don't nerf stuffs. It's no fun.

The Plasma Proc and the DOT are pretty effective.

Last Night I fired 2 torpedos at Borg Spheres and Probes on Elite (which they both were at Level 50), and it just baked them to death. Almost killed myself from the plasma proc from my own weapons setting my ship on fire in the process.

While I'm glad Plasma is no longer the weakest weapon type, but I think they made it a biiiiit too good as well. After all, the only way to remove it is with Hazzard Emitters.

Yes I agree that when I use my current setting with borg plasma beam array Mk XII and both new torpedo launchers from reputation system, I enjoy more fun with borg red alert. But, I notice that the chance of doing plasma DoT isn't like it used to be (pre-Season 7). Back then, I could easily create that effect on target. Now, not anymore.

It also keeps me wonder if DoT from borg beam array Mk XII would also be amplified by +7.6 % plasma damage from Romulan set  How about plasma damage from Warp Core Plasma and Theta radiation ?

And, I don't think we should worry too much whether or not plasma becomes stronger than other types of weapon. The reason being is that there are many ways to get the best setting of each type of weapons. I don't know about others, but I feel that the dev is overly concern about balancing power in the game (This may not be applicable to Fed vs Klingon ship/equipment availability - and let's not discuss this subject here). That's how I learned about "nerfed" term which I never came across in other MMOs. Let players be creative and provide them with all sorts of ships, weapons, consoles and devices, because "nerfed" is really inappropriate thing for it disregard efforts made by players to obtain their desired ship build and skill build.

Really need to drop those [borg] weapons, they removed them from the game for a reason... they dont work never have..

Go with Elite fleet phasers or distruptors if your fleet has them unlocked or go with advanced fleet weapons, they do better.

out of date weapons = out of date gameplay.

[Borg] weapons work on enemies flagged as borg, which is, curiously, not all of them. Using anti borg weaponry and combat log parser I see a decent chunk of damage coming from those anti borg weapons but it's inconsistently applied across different enemies.

The reason NOT to use fleet weaponry is that it costs utterly stupid amounts of dilithium while many players have a trove of [borg] stuff from when it wasn't so expensive. Even if the [borg] isn't as good as it should be due to poor implementation those weapons are still blue-quality specimens of their mark, which means any improvements on them is going to be small. Going from Mark 12 [Acc] [CrtH] to Mark 12 [Dmg]x3 [Acc] is NOT worth over a hundred thousand dilithium per ship.

Whoa there! If you drink the kool-aid too fast you'll choke!

The [Borg] weapons worked just fine, the problem was with Cryptic not tagging all Borg enemies properly and then in typical Cryptic fashion not bothering to give the enemy NPCs the proper tag even after the issue was found.

I like Plasma weapons but using them isn't practical, especially in PvP. Just about every STF set has a 20% resistance to Plasma's right off the bat. The simple solution would be for Crytpic to simply separate the org weapon type for NPC's from the weapons the players can use. This way, Plasma's wouldn't be a second class weapon in-game that most won't even use because if the the max level gear all being focused on weakening it.

    Borg NPC Weapons: Borg Plasma
    Player Weapons: Plasma

You adjust the the resistance in the STF sets to recognize the renamed weapon type for the NPC's so it doesn't take away from a players weapon type choice.
