hello guys i need some help with my setup (skills and boff layout) for my tholian recluse carrier i am an engineer and want to play it in a tanky/dps way for solo play and stfs (sometimes pvp)
ive got some intentions but i want to read other peoples opinions too
Ensign Tac: Fire at Will I
Ensign Science: science team 1
Lt. Com. Science: Polarize Hull I,feedback pulse I , Hazard Emitters III
Lt. Com. Eng: EPtW I, Reverse Shield Polarity I, EPtS III
Com. Eng: EPtW I, Eng. Team II, EPtS III, A2SIF III
If you want us to help then could you give us the setup you are using now. Because I cant help you with BOFF without knowing what weapons you have, what set you have, and what consoles you have.
come on i will do it on my own than you guys dont want to through some ideas in the pot its a recluse carrier my boff layout is in the first post the only weapons to use are tetryon beams cause of the tetryon grid console that makes the question for the pets obsolete
and btw i start from the scratch i dont have anything of the high shiny stuff i just wanted some ideas where to set my goals
The only difference is i`m sci not an eng, I hope this set ups might work for u
For consoles, i would throw off that tatryon thingie console, tbh I dont see it rly ussefull.
Engi consoles: 2 neutroniums, 2 SIF generators
Sci consoles: 2 field generators 2 shield emitters (not the regen ones)
Tac consoles: 2 pulse gens
In PvP i put up some chorniton mines in back, and torp lancher in front so i have only 3 beams, that allows me to run ful aux power.
For OP Assuming ur starting from scratch then for a tanky build i would use the following console setup
Eng: Neutronium x2, RCSx2
(note if ur not worried about ur turnrate then u can take 4 neutronium)
Sci: Assimilated console, zero pt E conduit, tet glider and shield emitter amp or field generator depending on the shield ur using (if ur using MACO shield then drop 1 or both neutronium move one of the universal console to eng slot and take extra shield console)
Tac: tet console or quantum (since the tholian fighters have tet and quantums)
For Boff I would drop FAW since u have 4 innate target subsystems and the have joint CD take TS1 or HY1 instead, also drop feedback pulse and take maybe tractor beam, tract repulsors or grav well

Forget RCS`s on carrier, thats just wasted slot, u dont benefit from it at all, also tac consoles DON`T boost your pets dmg, so it rly doesnt matter, altho i would suggest to use tetryon wps and tholian fighters. Tac team is one off the most important abilities in the game, if u are not distributing your shields, you will melt like butter.
