Can we ensure the Breen ship & Q autographs are back for 2013?

theultimatextheultimatex Member Posts: 489 Arc User
Some of us are low on funds, to the point of near eviction, and also cannot keep up with 25 days of races due to real life conflicts. Also since I can no longer afford to spend $20 to $50 every few months on this game, using Lobi to get the ship for my characters is not really a plan. Unless they are willing to extend the offer for 10 more days so I can get my next paycheck in the middle of January, it looks like I will go Breen ship less this year.

No offensive but if someone is near eviction, I would not spend any money on this game even if it was extra cash left over.

Also what does it matter if they extended it a few days, someone in that boat should not be spending money on video games.

I feel for you, OP, I honestly and truly do. But the Breen ship offer is pretty generous, 5 minutes or less per toon once a day for 25 days of a 40 day event. I've got several alts running the race and will have mine in January sometime, I'd trade you one if it wasn't bound on pickup.

Hope you manage to have a good holiday season.
Delta Rising is the best expansion ever and the players love it! No, seriously! ...Why are you laughing so hard? :(

yeah, i'm sorry for you too, but you know, perhaps you will manage to take a notebook with you to do the run once a day even on vacation. it is not like STO needs the best graphic card..

my son runs around ESD, bombards the evil snowman overlord and explores planets on my old macbook pro 2007 :)

and there is still a chance they will give us a bonus week or something.

As much as I feel for you OP I don't want this ship next year. I'm putting in my 5 minutes per toon for THIS ship and I hope if Cryptic if feeling as generous next year they should offer a DIFFERENT ship, else all the 'winners' of this years ship will avoid the wonderland as there wont be a reason to visit. Unless they just want a new scarf.

Yes, I am well aware that my priorities are messed up, but this is my outlet from all the TRIBBLE I go through in life. Sucks my life is affecting it so much, so I was looking for a silver lining when this end in January and I don't have enough for the ship.

Better to make sure you still have a roof over your head first before going to the escapades that we all do. Also shameless plug: visit the Library for wonderful books for a nice escape. (~Public Library Volunteer)

The autographs will probably be re-used, but probably with a new ship.

If the Breen ship returns after this, it'll likely be a temporary reward for a doff pack that is being retired, the way they occasionally bring back the Jem'hadar ship.

I do try to visit the library ever few months. It really is a great place to have some quit time, even if you are just there to listen to their massive collection of Compact Discs.

They are ancient one-way communication devices. I believe the "Television" falls in the same category.

    Libraries are very important, though.

On topic: I hope we can get a response from a Dev on this.

Yes handle your lives. Personal finances and life issues should take precidence over internet space ships.

I honestly feel for you fellow gamer - I am currently running the races daily with 44 toons - I decided to jump from 10 toons to all 44 since the Breen ship is free.

Takes 3hrs to run the races with all my toons on my main account, along with 2 from my secondary lifer account - Afterwards; I stop playing.

If the vessels were not bound, I no doubt would be happy to hand out a good chunk of my surplus to players that could not make the quota - While selling some on the exchange.

My take on the Q appreciation box that cost 5 Lobi:

On average you get about 4 to 5 Lobi crystals per lockbox and per key use - the reward from the Q appreciation box does not merit the cost of a key or keys (If you are unlucky enough to get only 4 Lobi.

Each Q box only net you 2 to 6 Pics - ouch

Aside from that - the Ship is free to obtain via the races - but like in your case, many do not have the time to run 25 races, especially with the fact that many players will be going away on Christmas Vacation and celebrating New Years out of town.

OP - if you are strugglingt to the point of near eviction - I seriously hope you are not spending large amounts of RL Cash on this game, or for that matter any game.

    Life comes before gaming.

Respectfully, if he is facing eviction and has financial trouble then I'm not quite convinced that he does know what he's doing if he is more concerned about buying a ship for a game over his own home comforts and financial situation.

What good is a ship if you've not got a computer/home to play with it?

he also said the game is his relax. look, we do not know nothing about this guy, and he is not concerned about BUYING a ship, but is concerned about getting it for free.

he also says he will not be at computer for some days, which is a healthy thing.

some spend more time at computer in winter and some tend to do more outing and nature in the summer. personal preferences.

i too have been a freelancer and i know how it is when the customers are delaying payments or you just have a 3rd bad month in a row. so think before making accusations which can be insulting for this person. as said before, you know nothing about him.

and I am NOT CONCERNED and not interested in knowing more.

I wish these pics was not bound to your character but to the account instead (to avoid sellingof Q pics) .. that way for those that started collecting they can collect it all to one character and get the ship at least for one or two characters.

I understand the financial reasons why They made them bound...

But IMO, it should have been Account not Character.

It would be nice if they do, since many of us will be away from home during the Holidays. You have Christmas Eve on the 24th, with Christmas day on the 25th, followed by New Years 7 days afterwards.

If you guys celebrate these Holidays, like I do, I'll be away from home for sometime. It would be a good gesture on behalf of Cryptic to at least extend the event pass Jan 14th.

    Merry Christmas :D

The pic should be bound, but the ship shouldn't have been bound. I feel folks would have benefited more from the vessels being not bound.

In regards to the PIC, I feel they should have been account bound instead per character.

I could have the Breen ship already if I was allowed to trade the autographs from one toon to another but alas that is not the case.

And for all those people telling this guy to set his priorities. You do not know anything about him or the circumstances he is in and all the trolling you guys are doing can be very insulting I just pray you never find yourself in a situation of f you do that you get the same sympathy or compassion you have shown him. I also know what it is like to be low on cash and gaming can be the only outlet from stress and depression.

And to the OP if the ship is made tradeable I would have traded you one.

    I got nothing.

Other than the fact that this guy's a career officer, which means he's got a lifer's account, which means he doesn't have to pay for his subscription, so why all the criticism?

I wasn't around last year, but wasn't the main/best way to get the Jem'Hadar ship by buying something?

No wonder they extended the (buy) event.

This year you get your ship for FREE if you are around for two thirds of the event.

If you can't make it to be around for that 2/3 and you still want to have that ship you need to buy the lobi crates.

With that in mind cryptic would be stupid to extend the event because they would lose those buyers who get the rest of the autographs via the lobi crates.

They would lose very little if They announce it on the 14th.

By then, anybody who would spend the money, will have.

Of course, this would probably pizz more than a few folks off.

You can get breen ship if you play winter race for 25 days( 20 hours cooldown on race) , 40 Q pictures per day = 1k in 25 days and dont forget that dilithium exchange is quite cheap to buy zen for lock box keys.
You should ask your fleet if you are in it for some time and active member to help you , maybe they will help you or maybe not , you can never know if you dont ask( i know that i will help my fleet mates if they are in time of need).
