Disclaimer: This is in no way intended to be a troll-bait post or gas for a flame rage. I prey to the gaming gods that this does not turn that way.

I feel that I need to voice some opinions of mine about the current state of game.

Since launch, almost 3 years ago now, progression with this game has been a constant flat line with the occasional spike (both going up and down), but for the most part, it's been at the same level it's been at since launch. We've had some very great content releases (IE. Featured Episodes, winter wonderland, fleet events).

When the Featured Episodes were released, they were the greatest things ever for this game. It gave the little child in me the chance to log into STO and 'watch' my weekly episode of Star Trek. As you already know, August 28th, 2010 released the first ever featured episode and spanning to the 25th of September. Three weeks later, Series 2 is released. 3 months after that for series 3. 1 year after that for series 4. and then 1 more year for the next series (which we are anxiously waiting for).

On February 12th 2012, we were introduced into a gambling device known as a Cardassian Lock Box. Regardless of how you look at them, they are a device for in game gambling. I'm as guilty as the next player that's taken the time to buy a master key and tried their luck on them, but I have stopped playing them. I have more important things to spend my 'zen' on than a in game scratch lottery ticket.

We've seen the introduction to some pretty epic interiors, like the Defiant interior pack, and the original constitution pack. Those interiors are EPIC to say the least. When will we be seeing more interiors that are 'unique'. I want to be able to walk each of my ships and be "ok, this is this ship, so i need to go this way for the lounge." I want to be able to go onto my Galaxy class ship and go into 10 forward like in the Tv series. Yes, I like what we have now for a lounge, but really? they don't all look like that in the series.

To continue with the interiors listed above, I would also like to see more functionality for my starship interiors. When I get done with an Elite STF and get all damaged up, I want to go into my ship interior, and help my crew fix my ship. Make it some sort of mini game. We've had many concept ideas thrown in over the years. The scanning games are fun, but you can rework a scanning game just so many times. I want to re-route EPS Flows in my Engineering deck. I want to be able to replace isoleneur chips and gel packs from behind my wall panels.

Before the big redesign of ESD, we had starships sitting and flying outside the windows. What happened to them? it seems kinda strange to see absolutely nothing moving outside of a space station that is in orbit of the home planet of the United Federation of Planets. Just saying.

Q's winter wonderland is a great little twist to the game for Christmas time, but we're forgetting the rest of the holidays, including some that were formed in the Star Trek Universe. I know you have something planned for first contact day, but that is an example.

Poker and 3d chess! we have poker tables and 3d chess tables. Whey can't we be able to play them? Heck, even WoW (though I think it was one of the Mods I downloaded for it) I was able to play Tic-Tac-Toe in the game.

Since launch, we've been promised to have the ambassador and andorian ships added in game, and they're slated for next year sometime. I like ships like the next guy, but please, oh please, stop putting them in lock boxes. I would rather they be apart of some sort of event like the breen ship is for q's wonderland event. I want to work IN GAME to earn my ships, not gamble away my money for a 10% chance of getting them.

True Veteran players of Star Trek Online have gotten a severe slap in the face recently. With the last lifetime subscription sale, players who bought the lifetime subscription have literally bought everything that us true Veteran players have spent literally over 1000 days earning. I feel that the true 1000 day veterans who have been playing since launch should receive a special in game item that you only get if you have played that long. Perhaps we should receive the Odyssey class three pack ship for free or something like that. Ok, maybe I'm thinking overboard with that suggestion, but hey. We've been faithfully playing since launch. 3 years going. We should have a little special something that nobody else has to say Thank's for always being there supporting us.

I realize that This might sprout a troll fest, but I felt that I needed to voice my opinions on this. I want Star Trek Online to thrive and be the best game that it can be. If this does sprout a troll fest, I do apologize. If any devs read this, I thank you for taking the time to read this, and I hope my voice get's heard.

Agree with this 100% except the veteran stuff. I don't have a problem with them changing the rules, although it seems utterly ridiculous that they included the titles along with the changes since the whole point of the titles was that they were awarded based on veteran status.

Since I am a 1000 day vet I do feel that perhaps as the recent lifers get all the vetran rewards in perpituity at what point do long time veterans get liftime status. At this point spending 300 or even 200 dollars would be a waste of money for me. perhaps like a 50 dollar lifetime upgrade for 1000 day vets and up or even better as a 1500 day vet reward. Thanks for paying to play 1500 days you have paid enough subs. It's not like I dont buy just about everything on the store anyway. Exept the keys not them.

I am a fellow fleet leader with the op and I gotta say before he made this post we had a very long discussion about the state of this game. Like jeremy said on stoked before he cut it, this game is going downhill very fast. It takes years to get anything done. It seems like cryptic will start a project and then halfway done they stop and move on to something else and then it takes another year to get it to us. If they would start a project and dedicate themselves to it they would be earning more money faster.

We all know that pwe is concerned about making money first and formost but the rate at which they pump out content of any sort to generate revenue is contradictory to this. For example it should not take three years to come out with the ambassador class. This is a cannon ship that was in the shows and should have been in game since launch. The community has been great about giving extremly good ideas regarding new features and mini games and the sort but it seems like in all honesty they just don't care.

The sad truth about this game is that if it wasn't the star trek ip it would most likely be close to hitting rock bottom. The ip is what is holding this game together with sticks and glue. The forums are filled with people bi***ing and moaning about something not being added after years of being told they would have it soon or things broken that even after years have not been fixed. Whats sad is that while yes it is a bunch of whinning it is also very true.

Cryptic and pwe need to take a look at what bioware has done for tor. Yes there f2p model sucks compared to sto but look at there content. They release new content at least twice as often as sto does and it is very good and 95% bug free. What does sto offer in comparison? Far less content and what does get released is always super buggy. I mean when will we ever get to find out how the Iconians factor into the state of the galaxy? it's been three years since those of us who have been here since beta have finished the story as it is.

I have been a lifetime subscriber since the launch of sto and at first 300 bucks was a damn good deal. Now it's worth practically nothing. All the (exclusive items) that were for lifetime members were giving away to the f2p playerbase. All the accolades, perks and ships that we earned by playing the game for 1000 days were giving away like party favors the instant someone purchased a lifetime sub in the last sale. We need something that is OURS and not a piece of candy that gets giving away on halloween.

I'm not trying to flame or bad mouth cryptic and or pwe in any way. I'm just saying they need to look into how there running this game and try to change things for the better. I am a trekkie at heart. I love star trek and I love sto. I just want this game to be better then [mehh]. Sto has so much potential and they could make so much more money if they would get things in order. I sincerly hope that branflakes or someone else from the sto team will come on and give us there opinion on the state of the game and let us know if it's mutual or otherwise. Again this is not a flame in any way just a concerned fan.
