Bridge Officer Abilities

Wondering whether anyone can help me out here... I'm looking to make the most of my Bridge Officers (and their abilities) without having to purchase more slots. I want to maximize the ones I've got to work with a whole bunch of ship choices. I think I've got an idea of how to go about this (on top of what I've already got) but am a little... confused about the trainable abilities.

Obviously there are those individuals (such as ESD and First City that will provide your bridge officers with the more basic abilities, especially Level 3 and 4). What I'm looking to find out is what abilities are trainable (through characters) and which ones are trainable (through other bridge officers).

Example; Torpedo High Yield 3 is only trainable by a Tactical character that has Tier 2 in his Tactical Skill. I've looked over the STO Wiki (http://www.stowiki.org/Bridge_officer_abilities) but am convinced that some of the labels are wrong.

The link you listed looks about right,

though its kinda odd with the grey ones they list as 'commander rank' abilities, when in the footnotes they even contradict saying that said abilities are PLAYER only >.>'

But yeah, most of them look about right from my experience
, its just a matter of luck/cost finding/buying them and getting said ability, or finding a TRUSTWORTHY player to train your officers and actually give them back 8-)...

    but somethings you can guarantee,

    e.g.

torp spread 3, jemhadar boff from the 2800 mission
Transfer shield strength 3, reman boff from the rerun, and occasionally on a blue/purple sci boff
[Combat (Self)] Your Bite deals 2378 (1475) Physical Damage(Critical) to Spawnmother.

For the player trained abilities, remember that you can always create another F2P account and level up an alt there to trade and train those abilities if you can't find someone you trust. It's extra work, but beats someone walking off with your BOFF.

I've actually done this before, with strangers. Thus far, I've been quite lucky. I'm in a rather large fleet now though, so such a trade should be a lot easier with a fair amount of trust.

As much as I could use these officers to train, I want them to be apart of my crew once Cryptic gets around to allowing them to be customized. Thus, having them train another will nullify their use.

This would require two computers though wouldn't it? Unfortunately, I only have the one.

You can actually run the client twice on the same system and swap back and forth. It's not optimal, but it will work well enough to do item trades.
