Request: Make Aegis Graviton Deflecter actually a Graviton Deflector

kamiyama317kamiyama317 Member Posts: 1,295 Arc User
Here is my request - The Aegis Graviton Deflector currently most resembles a Positron Deflector Array, but is called a Graviton Deflector. I would like two stat changes to be made on it so it actually resembles a Graviton Deflector.

Graviton Deflector Array

Positron Deflector Array

Aegis Graviton Deflector

I would like the following changes to be made to it:

Aegis Graviton Deflector Array
Very Rare Ship Deflector Dish
Bind On Equip
Rear Admiral, Lower Half
Values do not reflect skills or other modifiers

+5 Shield Power Setting
+15.2 Starship Shield Emitters
+22.9 Starship Shield System
+22.9 Subspace Decompiler
+15.2 Graviton Generators

Graviton Deflector Arrays grant buffs to Subspace Decompiler and Graviton Generators. So should any set graviton deflector in the game. Right now we don't have any set deflectors that grant a bonus to Subspace Decompiler, which sucks. I hope that either this change is made, or we get a set deflector in the future that does have a bonus to [SubD].

    NO !!!

The AEGIS system highlights defense and the positron deflector gives shield bonus's.

DON'T mess with my favorite set, make a new set if you wanna skrew with something.

The problem with this idea is that the Graviton Deflector suits Science vessels because it provides bonuses to Science Powers.

The Neutrino and Positron Deflectors are innately more suited to Cruisers and Escorts due to the fact that they provide DEFENSIVE BONUSES. Cruisers and Escorts don't have many science boff slots, thus they will use a lot less science abilities. This is why it is better to go for the Positron Deflector (which provides additional shield hit points, healing, hull hit points, and hull healing) OR the Neutrino Deflector (which provides resistance buffs VS. SCIENCE ABILITIES).

In conclusion, changing the Aegis set to be more accurate wouldn't work because you've eliminated all but 1 types of ship that can benefit the most from its Deflector and, ultimately, its focus (DEFENSE).

And the KHG deflector is called a Positron but is actually a Graviton (well, more of a Graviton).

Look, it doesn't really matter what things are called. Just look at the attributes and use what is best for your setup.

And besides, both the Aegis and KHG deflectors are special set pieces... why should they follow the standard equipment templates? :D
    Was named Trek17.

Been playing STO since Open Beta, and have never regarded anything as worse than 'meh', if only due to personal standards.

By your arguments the mustang an the camaro are the same car just because the are both using the zeta platform.
-"There is no such thing as an I win button!" "Um, Sir. Whats this button that says (I win) for then?"

Yeah, I'm looking at it on one of my ships... and yeah, Aegis Deflector Array - no Graviton involved. I had to go double check, because I don't remember it saying it was but I wanted to double check.

Seems it would be simpler to just call it the Aegis Positron Deflector Array than to shuffle its stats around.

    This +1.

Seriously.... it's just a name.... Changing it to Aegis positron deflector could work, but it's not really a positron deflector either.

Heh, I was just looking at my deflector, and guess what- My mk12 positron deflector has [SubD], as well as [em] and [shds].

I KNEW I didn't spend that 18K in dilith for the AEGIS for a reason.
