Romulan Plasma Beam Array Mk XI vs Mk XII

So, they're the only two store unlocks I've done - so I figured I would share the base stats for those that might be in the early stage of considering going Romulan Plasma with S7. I've only got the stats for the beam arrays, because - well, that's the guy that got there first.

They're two bonus weapons since they have the Plasma and Disruptor procs (keep in mind though, they're Plasma weapons - they are not Plasma Disruptors - they are Disruptor Plasmas...er, that just doesn't roll off the tongue). So you're looking at your standard Acc, CrtD, CrtH, Dmg and the various mixes of the two (including the standard x2 being available).

Info taken from orbit around ESD (SWT 9 (+30 Omega Rep), SEW 9, 121 Weapon Power, 3x 26.2% Plasma Infusers)

Romulan Plasma Beam Array Mk XI
20,540 Dil
296 Plasma Damage (236.8 DPS)
2.5% 31.9 Plasma Damage per sec for 15 sec
2.5% -10.5 Damage Resistance for 15 sec

Romulan Plasma Beam Array Mk XII
28,540 Dil
306.2 Plasma Damage (244.9 DPS)
2.5% 33 Plasma Damage per sec for 15 sec
2.5% -10.5 Damage Resistance for 15 sec

The Mk XI's are available at T2 (15k RXP).
The Mk XII's are available at T4 (60k RXP).

The 2pc Romulan Singularity Harness bonus (Plasma Conductive Circuitry) gives +7.6% Plasma damage (don't have it yet, they still need to fix the Hyper-Plasma torp).

The [Pla] Mk XII Ultra Rare Romulan Embassy Science Console buff provides +9.6% Plasma damage (yeah, no - no fleet - no embassy - no console - don't have this) to Plasma energy weapons (adds a Plasma DoT to non-Plasma).

STF shields have Plasma resist (pesky Borg) - and - well, even folks without STF shields are likely running STFs to get STF shields...so they've probably picked up Mk XII shields off the Exchange with Plasma resist.

Just figured I'd share that for anybody thinking about it - somewhat of a follow up to my previous thread back when I unlocked the Mk XI's in the store (didn't buy them - giggled with sticker shock and went back to grinding the rep).

edit: @28.5k Dil a pop, that Acc x2 and CrtH x2 discussion becomes kind of interesting...

use them on my ktinga, in DHC format. chose crtH2 myself. they are a bit more green then blueish like normal plasma, and the disrupter proc they come with makes any DOT burn a little bit harder, a good parring.

maybe plasma will be viable now with romulan 2 part and 2 or 3 embassy consoles. the additional damage buffs, with that give you +20% more damage though to break even? im guessing not quite, but if you can equip EWP3, running plasma weapons becomes very worth it.

They have a great synergy with plasma torpedo weaponry as well. Not everyone runs the stf shields... those running the fleet shields are likely running the version that doesn't have plasma resist, if they picked it up for pvp. If you do 5-8% less dmg to stf shields and 12-15% more vs those with out... its likely a wash which isn't so bad.

what would also help is the plasma proc dot from energy weapons and plasma torps being effected by particular gens. i should just screen shot a bunch of logs showing that damage being a pathetic 1-3% of my damage dealing, maybe i can get them to buff it, seeing logs showing how underpowered, and next to nothing it is. wish tet procs showed up like in the log, id be real interested in how they do.

Thanks for sharaing, SVR has slowed down due to the RM & OM grind, which results in lesss FM. But if we are talking KDf , contact me in game in a ca. 3 days, and we'll see how to get you them consoles.

What happened to FM are coming to PvP??? ahhh right soon(tm)

Thing is, it's a set piece - so it should be a single one of them - with a 3pc bonus that only affects it. Do we have any info on what it is in the least? I mean, it was like pulling teeth to get any info on the Omega Torp and it wasn't until people pointed out the Hyper-Plasma was a Rapid Plasma that they told us what that was.

I like what somebody said in another thread - it's just Cryptic being cryptic.

Cause we've got a cutting beam that's a turret. This Experimental Beam Array - standard 250 arc? Does the Experimental mean that it has a chance to fail? Is it the Excelsior Transwarp of Beam Arrays?

In the end, I've got the sour gut feeling somebody will get there - get it - and it will be another oopsie, that's not what it's supposed to be - we'll have that out in a week or two.

I honestly don't think they finished a lot of the stuff. Remember, the rep grind when it launched was at least twice as long if not longer - they cut the time on the rep stuff, cut the time on various other projects, etc, etc, etc. I think they were counting on that time to finish some of this stuff off... they cut the time, and tada - there's the Rapid Plasma instead of the Hyper-Plasma. Oh well... Hell, one might even say that the reason the T4 Passives didn't get the testing they were supposed to get is again because people should not have been near T4 yet... oh well, oh well...
