Omega torpedo Launcher & BOFF powers?

bohiapbohiap Member Posts: 535
I got the cutting beam and was a little surprised that it could not use beam fire at will. I was kinda, "meh" 'cause my BOFFs are all trained in cannon powers.

So the real question is whether or not I can use torpedo spread with the Omega Torpedo Launcher, or if I should stick with the photon torpedo launcher I got at the old borg store.

Anybody know yet?

You can use spread and high yield with the Omega one, similar to plasma torpedoes. High yield will make a heavy plasma bolt similar to the ones from the unimatrix command ships. Targets killed by the bolt will vaporize just like players do when they get hit by them.

Hilarious when used on Borg cubes. :D

Awesome. Then I'm getting one this weekend. If the high yield is that funny looking I might have to retrain a BOFF to pick it up.

Yeah, I managed to Vaporize Tactical Cubes and Donatra with it. :D

Rapid Fire Launcher is good for DPS like fighting the Transwarp Gates from a safe distance. The Spread is good for multiple targets, and the High Yield has power probably better than the Tricobalt.

So it is a good buy.

High Yield Omega Torpedo might even be better than Tricobalt since you can fire it every 15 seconds if you have 2 High Yield powers.

After looking at the stats and comparing them to my quantums my personal opinion is that the Omega launcher is better suited to ships who load heavy frontal firepower while quantums are still the better choice for broadsiders.

What happens if you're in a red alert and you fire a heavy plasma bolt at one the command ship fired?

Then the universe would blink out in a paradoxal calamity.

I want to see the Unimatrix get vaporized. :D

    - QUESTION -

If you use high yield of a higher level, say III instead of I, will the animation change ?

The bolt looks awful small on my screen :/

The normal Torp is tiny but when you add HY3 (thats what i use so i only know the basic torp and HY3) and it becomes a big ball of fun (think slightly smaller than the vger ones)

Did ISE yesterday and De-Rezzed a Tac cube which was soo cool but at the end i managed to do it to the Tac Cube, so satisfying....:D
