ok so I have settled into this build for PVP, its still rough (and I don't have anymore re-spec tokens) but this seems to work unless of course I run into people using the subnuke doffs and lots of Toy Consoles.... the only P2W consoles I am using on this build came with the Vesta 3 Pack, so NO Isometric Charge, or Subspace Jump, or Graviton Pulse, or Point Defense System or Anti-Matter Spread... I know its going to prolly gonna get shredded as a FAIL build but its what I managed to put together with what I happen to have on hand.... and so here is the most recent version of the Vesta that I'm using
Multi-Mission Strategic Explorer

LCMDR UNI(Tac): Tactical Team I, Dispersal Pattern Beta I, Cannon Rapid Fire II
LT. Tac: Beam Overload I, Attack Pattern Delta I
LT. Eng: Emergency Power to Shields I, Reverse Shield Polarity I
ENS. UNI(Eng): Emergency Power to Shields I
Doffs
Systems Engineer (Additional subsystem with Viral Matrix)
Systems Engineer (30% chance Viral Matrix to Spread)
Sensor Officer (debuff targets offensive with Sensor Scan)
Development Lab Scientist (recharge time for Science team and Buff)
Flight Deck Officer (reduce recharge time of Hangar bays and Boarding parties)
again you will notice that Im not using the Consoles that seem to be frowned upon in PVP (at least the ones I keep hearing about) and I am not using the Subnuke Doffs... this is my attempt to PVP clean as it were and puts me at a severe disadvantage against those that use the gimmick consoles or subnuke doffs but against others that play "clean" it seems to hold its own in a team environment (not the star damage dealer or healer) its Consistent
so anything that can be done to prove this ship has to be done around my captain spec as I currently don't have the zen or money for zen for a respect token
enjoy

i have some synergy suggestions. first the aux cannons, by useing these you need to not concern yourself with weapons power at all. you ether want to deal weapons damage with aux cannons and high aux, or with normal DHCs and high weapons power. that means ditch the second beam and beam overload, only keep 1 for the purpose of subsytem targeting. run 2 mines or a mine and a cutting beam aft.
your skill tree spec looks a bit to spread out, not min maxed enough. why put any points in particle and graviton? i don't see any TBR, EWP, GW or the like in the build. if you don't run tet glider you have no use for flow caps too. max the things impotent to the builds, energy weapon damage, projectile damage, eps system for strong as possible EPtS, 9 to decompilers so VM is at its best, etc...
i noticed not a single hull heal, thats a problem. you have to run at least HE1, you could use runabouts for holding. VM grinds someone to a halt too.

I bow to the master.
But really what to put in the BO spot? There is one TT already. And a Sci team with a Doff. I'm not sure what a FAW 1 could do there, anything useful?
With all the other shield heals, resists, power boosts, and generally an aux build (benefitting that high level TSS) as it is, maybe drop the Sci and put in a HE? Then run two TT's? Then grab the two mines and have a ball. Or grab two balls just not mine?

Cheers happy flying!!
on any ship that doesn't battle cloak :P 2 TTs, or creative ways to have 1 TT at its global is extreamly nice to have. you will just have to chose between a ST, and a TT each time 1 cools down. oh, but 1 dev doff isnt going to drop it to global. i high aux HE2 though is basically all the hull heal most ships ever need. though it may seem crazy for a sci ship, dropping sci team, and freeing up that doff slot at the same time, might be best. slot another VM doff, or add a bfi doff. you could run 2 purple damage control doffs and have 1 copy of EPtA and EPtS at full up time, making everything aux related better. im always going to suggest those on ships that cant make use of 2 AtB. this ship could actually, if you used the LTC for eng. but that changes the build completely.
...what about dropping one of the rear beams, adding a rear firing torp, dropping the BO for a TS (there's no AoE on this boat and a rear TS might help with somebody on your rear deploying any of the new or old targetables as well as just trying to pop any mines, etc, etc, etc without having to change targets)...
...in regard to the VM Spread - without any means to cluster targets, how worthwhile is that? Also, my 20% DOFF actually shows a 10% to spread and a 10% to spread again - not a 20% chance to spread - does the 30% work that way as well? 10%, 10%, 10%? Yeah, the guy I've got it on does Full Aux'd GWs - or I wouldn't have it there.
That being said/asked, what would the thoughts be on dropping the Sensor Scan debuff and the VM-Spread to pick up a pair of DCEs to recharge EPtS so you could drop one in favor of HE1?
Further, given that there's ST, TSS, and EPtS - what about dropping RSP for AtS? The somewhat quick CD on AtS means you could work it into your standard spammage - giving you that nifty Aux'd hull heal as well as providing that additional hull damage resistance - dropping out HE1 as needed for some additional healing/resistance as needed.
It would be a case of dropping two self only abilities for two you can share - while providing some of that missing hull healing.
Although APD can provide that nifty little buff/debuff for yourself or a friend, there's neither PH nor APO on the boat - so there's going to be that risk of eating TB/TBR, losing hull/def, etc, etc, etc. At first I was thinking of dropping CRF2 to CRF1 to allow for APO1 and dropping either the APD or the DPB (DPB1 with Trics drops two, no? Seems like a bit of a waste for something with such a CD)...eh? But then I had the duh moment, even though I read about it - of dropping the TB, letting the ADRs handle that, and slotting the PH there. I've got a bias toward PH, mind you - so keep that in mind.
Course, the VM starts to stand out - and - I begin to wonder where it fits in with the overall concept. Just a disable that they or their team is likely to clear? Maybe something to catch them off guard or between CDs?
But if I picture GW3 there instead - switching out the VM-Add DOFF for a Grav, I see folks having to decide between using their APO/PH on the ADRs or the GW...while under the threat of my Subnuke stripping the buff - which leads to picturing the ADRs holding the target in the GW while I drop trics, a spread of torps, and EM around to pound them with cannons.
Like I said though, none of this is a recommendation in the least - more a case of a question to others posting in the thread...
I use maco shields, and borg engines and deflector for the heals and energy. Drop the particle generator console too. Only the QFF makes use of it. If you have the hull regen passive and a hazards, you should be able to drop one armor console. The reason is you want to put more phaser consoles in.
With such high shield capacity, science ships make better use of the modified BFI doffs. With two tac teams its like an 1 minute RSP:D I use 3 and have two subsystem doffs. (old ones)
all very good suggestions as to what I might do... but Im pretty locked where I am based on not having any more respect tokens.... I will roll this for a while and make notes and when I can get the respec tokens I will revisit the build to get more out of it....
this was an attempt to come up with a viable Vesta build that does not use any of the Gimmick Consoles that the pugs seem to love... granted I am using all 3 Vesta Consoles but I don't see them as broken yet at least not until someone sees something I have not.... but thanks for the insights... Im still relatively new at trying to make a PVP build that does not use subnuke doffs ot gimmick universal consoles... I love my vesta and I am working on trying to come up with something that synergizes well with my team mates as I am becoming part of my Fleets PVP premade team..... and Im not the only science officer on that team.... just the only one with the Spiffy Vesta... so based on my skill set try and keep suggestions about the build limited to what I can currently do... at least til I get 500 zen for a respect
Thanks look forward to getting my ship blown up in PVP and also getting my shots in where I can

When I get home from work ill input my vesta aux cannon build I've been toying with. It basically uses my shield stripper powers and has the aux cannons x 3.
ok so I have been taking this build and set up into PVP a lot lately and it WORKS... I can stay alive to focus my science abilities on the called target and I bring enough DPS to the table to be noticed..... yes the build can be tweaked to get more out of it but for now (at least till I get a respec token) this is my go to PVP set up.... and one of my fleetmates told me that the build is Escort kryptonite..... great for dealing with that one escort that gets away from his team.....

So, er - it would look something like this:
TT1, DPB1, CRF2
TS1, APD1
EPtS1, AtS1
HE1, ST2, TSS3, VM3(GW3?)
PH1
