my main character is a tac VA and I recently moved into a Tac Escort Retrofit. However I want to try some of the endgame stuff like STFs so I can start earning the borg equip. However I dont want to go into these with USS IdontknowwhatImdoing.
Here is my build...any advice will be appreciated

Tac Escort retrofit

Fore: 3 plasma-disruptor hybrid dual heavy cannons MKXI
1Q-Torp(crtH) MKXI

Breen deflector, engines and shield...I am contemplating a move over to Jem'Hadar set...I have two of the set..the engines and shields

Aft: 3 Disruptor turrets MKI (dmg)

consoles
eng: Cloak, electroceramic hull plate MKX, Neutronium alloy MKXI

sci: Shield Emit Amp MK XI, assimilated module

Tac: 4 disruptor induction coils MKXI

how does she look????

    looking pretty good

i would change some consoles myself

this is what i used on the tac escort retrofit

eng : TRIBBLE. module, 2x neutronium
    sci : 2 x field generator

cloak has no use in STF's imo, and ur better of with high shields then fast regen shields

for boff powers, have tac : 2x TT, 2x CRF, 2x HY, engi : 2x EPtS, sci : TSS and HE
    alternative for tac : 2xTT, 1x CRF, 1x HY, 1x CSV, 1x TS

    assign doffs at your liking

with that setup i could do probe duty both sides solo on KASE :)

as for the breen set : meh.... try to get some high capacity shields (if possible aegis set or fleet stuff)

If you are thinking of taking on the Jem set you should also switch your weapons to Polaron.
It's also best practice to keep the same type of energy.

I would swap out the neutronium alloy for the assimilated module and remove that shield emitter and add 2 field generators. The more shields the merrier. Your boff shield healing skills should be enough to fill the gap of the regenation.

Also look into upgrading your consoles. MKXI blue atleast. As for the weapons I would suggest the fleet weapons for now if you have the dilithium else something MKXI blue or better of the exchange will do.

I'm missing your boff skills, doffs and your stats. Those are kinda vitals to "grade" a build.

The eng BOFF need some work. eng team is useless on an escort because you should have TT up all the time. Take eng team out, move EPTS to ensign and then put RSV in at LT. This gives you a saving move if you need it. Also, with ET and TT sharing the same cool-down, you cant really use it on an escort.

First off the breen set isn't that good, the jem'hadar set is just as easy to get and a lot better.

Loose the plasma disruptor DHC and save up for some polaron as they will go nicely with the jem'hadar set.

As a rule you don't really want to have more than two Boff powers that share a cool down.

From what I see you want a PVE set up....

    Fore weapons: 3xDHC, 1xTorp
    Aft: 3xTurrets

This set up is for multiple enemies, for single enemies swap the TorpS for THY and CSV for CRF...

    CDR Tac= TT1, APB1,CSV2, APB3
    LCDR Tac=TT1,CSV1, APO1
    ENS Tac= TorpS1
    LT Eng= EPtS1, EPtS2
    LT Sci= TSS1, HE2
