Got the Cutting Beam and the Assimilated Module on my Vesta. Also running Borg XII 3/3 set, and 3 Phaser Aux cannons and 2 trico mines
So far, wow thing 2 piece set bonus is sooo weak! +10 weapon power for 3 secs? big freakin deal! Coulda at least added maybe a damage bonus or something worthwhile!
If I'm not mistaken, this is easily the worst 2/3 bonus yet

The Cutting Beam is governed by weapon power, so it does not mix well with Aux Cannons. The Borg Tractor beam's cutting beam combo damage is controled by Aux, so basically the beam serves as a primer for the set tractor. Since the Borg Assimilated Weapon proc affects weapon power, the Aux Cannons lose out.
I've tested the Borg Set + Cutting Beam + Borg tractor in fleet action on my Mobius, and it's a great finishing move once the target shields are down. The Borg set also greatly increases your ship's survivability. The combo's biggest drawback is the 5 minute cool-down on the Borg Set tractor beam. EDIT: I forgot to mention, my Mobius + Borg Set + Cutting Beam routinely takes 1st place in Fleet actions, so yes, I believe running both Borg sets are worth while, at least in escorts.
i understand all that.... but I'm specifically referring to the 2 piece bonus of the Omega Adapted Borg Set
2.5% chance: to self: Applies Omega Weapon Amplifier:
+10 Current Weapon Power
+500 Current Weapon Power Resistance Rating for 3 sec
+500 Maximum Weapon Power Resistance Rating for 3 sec
So Am I... My DPS jumps up a lot on my Mobius running a Chroniton Beam Bank + 2 AP DHC's + 1 Quantum Torp front, and AP Turret + Cutting Beam + Temporal Disruption Device Rear. This proc helps my ship's Total Weapon Power remain maxxed at 125 for longer burst periods. The Weapon Amplifier proc also stacks... some have claimed to have gotten it as high as 6 instances.
Proc rates are dependent on weapon fire rates. DHC's only shoot twice per firing cycle, so they don't work as well for triggering chain Omega weapon proc. You need other cannons / turrets + CSV or CRF to make up the difference.

The draw isn't the bonus weapon power, it's the power resistances.
When the bonus procs it reduces the power drain from firing your energy weapons. It doesn't seem like much, but when you're running 6 energy weapons the higher sustained power level can mean a MAJOR increase in sustained DPS.
It's probably the equivilent to about a 25% damage increase to your energy weapon damage, if you're running enough energy weapons and a high enough power level.

Thanks for that info! I was wondering what that extra resistance translated to.

It's worth noting that this is cool for a Tac or Sci, but if you're an Engineer you have both EPS Power Transfer and Nadion Inversion, both of which boost power and negate/reduce weapon energy drain, so the impact is muted.
But just by a bit, though. The fun in this is that it's a proc, so it's pretty much automatic, like getting a brief, free Nadion Inversion every so often, like the power boost proc from MACO shields.

I am running err was Running a Mobi for a while but I noticed a HUGE hit to my DPS as compared to my Defiant. I would love a chance to touch base with you and see how I might improve my DPS on my Mobi.
