I'm recently returned to the game and was wondering which Deflector/Engine/Shield sets people like? I used to use the Omega Shield and Engine with the Borg Console and Deflector but of course that no longer works (or at least doesn't provide the set bonuses that made it useful) so now I'm debating what to go with.

At the moment I'm using the Omega set since I thought the extra speed would be useful but I'm not really noticing the extra speed and while Tachyon Glider is nice I'm not convinced I really need it. I'm contemplating going to the full Borg set since the extra power seems like it would be more useful and of course the healing set bonuses can't hurt. Do escort pilots like any of the other sets?

On a similar note, what do people think of the Omega weapon set? I'm already using the Console (and unlikely to stop) and I'm almost certainly going to swap one of my turrets for the Cutting Beam but I'm not sure about the Plasma Torpedo. I use HYT a lot and don't really care for Plasma HYTs. I would consider dropping it in the rear in place of my Tricobolt Launcher but according to the tool tip it has to be mounted forward so that's out. Any thoughts?

I can't comment on the Omega weapon set or any of the new Rep sets (not at this point), but following the Borg set breakup a lot of the folks I know have gravitated either to a 2-piece Omega (for Tetryon Glider) + MACO shield or 2-piece Borg (for the hull heal) + MACO shield. In other words, the same as before, just slightly weaker for lack of the 3-piece Borg set bonus.

A couple I know went full MACO and full Borg and swear by the Graviton Beam/Assimilated Tractor, but I think that's just because they like having extra buttons on their quickbar :P

As may have been mentioned in a different thread, a Fleet Defiant-R or a Bug running full Polarons and the 2-piece Jem'Hadar set (not sure which pieces, but I would presume Deflector/Engine + MACO shield) can put out some crazy numbers.

Nobody I know uses the Breen set, and many are disappointed that it has yet to get some kind of synergy with the new Breen ship. I don't know anyone with the Rep at levels needed to get the best of the Reman set either, but with S7 Plasma weapons have made a comeback of sorts. They're still inferior compared to the usual Anti-Proton/Disruptor proponents, but they're more valid now than ever before, at least.

Even since the breakup I haven't seen a person outright abandon the Assimilated console, since the boosts are still useful in almost any build.

Unfortunately I wasn't able to farm up my Mk XI Omega Deflector before Season 7 so I'm stuck grinding Rep until I can unlock that full set and go Omega/MACO, but so far I've been sticking with the Borg/MACO combo. The MACO shield Conduit Link proc is great for extra juice, and the Borg hull heal helps my typically squishy Escorts or Vesta.

I use the MACO deflector and shields. For engines, I run the Advanced Fleet Hyper-Impulse Engines [turn]x3 [spd].

Has the same speed as the Omega engines, but the turn rate is 1.4 better.

can't really give straight answers on any sets except the jem hadar one which can be very useful as it acts as a spare polaron console when 2 pieces are used but i am going to experiment with both borg sets on a ship (namely my Steamrunner) i have most of the pieces and just waiting on unlocking the last to go forward with testing but they seem like a good set if ya wanna be in the fight for a prolonged time at least.

I was using the Mark XI MACO shields and the rest Borg before S7, and I'm still using them post-S7. Seems to work well enough for me. Still get the benefits of the 2-piece Borg set.

I swapped out my mine launcher for the cutting beam...I like it. I don't have any actual numbers, but it feels like things die faster.

That's part of my thoughts on it. I run Engineer/MVAE so I've got quite a bit of sustainability through Engineer powers and Control though Science BOs already so building on that seems like a sensible approach.

On my mobius I am running the 3 piece Borg.
    Shield, deflector and engines.
Feel it works well, I like the hull regen and the regenerative shielding.

Yes, the Advanced Fleet components have introduced a new wrinkle to the builds, which is good (for those who have a Fleet and scads of fleet credits and dil of course), but by and large most of the sets are still good enough to form the default baseline of endgame gear.

i use the full jem hard set on my fleet saber with a mix of phased polaron and regular polaron along with the kinectic beam thingamabobber. it's not too shabby of a build, though I wouldn't mind a little more speed or quicker hull regen. also, I have the assimilated console and the zero point console from the romulan rep system.

Same here -- Mobius complete with full temporal warfare set, AP DHC's, AP turret, and the Borg Cutting Beam (combo's well with borg tractor). It routinely places 1st in Fleet actions thanks to the Borg Universal Console, Zero Point Energy Conduit, and Tachyokinetic Console providing 8.88% unbuffed critical hit rates.

I have the Omega XII set as well. It has nice shield depletion with Tetryon Glider, but its Gravitic Anchor is deadly in PVP if used correctly (my Fleet Member's full hull Chel Gret went down to my critical hit Beam Overload1 earlier tonight after getting trapped by Grav-Anchor).

The MACO XII set is good (best set shield in the game), but I'm getting the impression that the Omega and Borg sets provide better results on escorts.

Going full Borg on my ships. Corrupting classic Star Trek Ships like the TOS Enterprise is always fun, Assimilated Tractor Beam does a ton of damage, and Omega Torpedo Launcher is fun.
